Danielle Flanders is playing with liquid gold leafing today and boy are you in for a treat! To help get you in the mood why not absorb some inspiration from Gustav Klimt, the most famous artist of the 20th century to have used gold leaf as a primary aspect of his expression. If only we could all have the opportunity to see “The Kiss” in person!

Beautiful projects! Thank you all for sharing. If you want see some of Klimt’s works and you are near or plan on visiting New York City, I highly recommend the Neue ( pronounce Noya) Galley. Klimt’s “Woman in Gold” is on permanent exhibition. Memories of Adele Block Bauer (the woman in gold) and Danielle’s video have given me insipiration.

Well, Danielle, I took on your challenge as love the richness gold adds to a card. Liquid Gold was easy to use but strong smelling and a mess to clean up without proper supplies. Panicked when my white bathroom sink was tainted gold ~ never cleaned up so fast in my life!
SabineV says
The gold accents are so pretty! definitely something I need to do more of!

Somehow when preparing for Stampafaire this year, I didn’t realize that the gold leaf you had on the supply list was a paint, I was used to the actual golf leaf flakes and didn’t want to invest that much in buying a package just for the challenge. After your class though, I will definitely look for this paint. I’m not much of a glitter, glitz, and gold kind of gal, but I did kind of enjoy this one. Thanks!
Noelle says
A little bit of gold seems to add a little classiness to a card. I hope to find time to try this out!
