I live a short drive from Florida’s lovely Juno Beach, but the best part is the North end of the beach where dogs are allowed off leash. Let’s see, being I live in Florida I have been to a ton of beaches and I actually have loved them all, so it’s hard to pick just one. I’m going to have to say though that there is one beach in particular that holds a special place in my heart and it is located in the Naples/Marco Island area. When ever I go there I always see Dolphins, tons of other sealife animals, as well as its a beach where you can fish right from the sand or water. It’s also such a peaceful beach because it’s in a remote location so there are hardly any people there. Thank you for the opportunity to win and also for another outstanding release!

We spent a great deal of time on that porch, having coffee there in the mornings and dessert in the evening.

Au Train Beach in the Michigan UP. We have a cabin in town there and it’s a 5 minute kayak ride to the most gorgeous inland beach I’ve ever experienced. My favorite beach to visit was Venice Beach because my hubby and I have 8 kids between us and we don’t always get a chance to be together alone..being on that beach alone with my hubby was surreal! Living in Florida and being a beach lover, I’ve been to so many gorgeous beaches – lucky me. My favorite, however, is a tiny little beach on Hill Lake in Wisconsin. When I was small my grandparents owned a cottage on this lake and every summer we visited, hand pumped our water, used an outhouse, and lit oil lamps. I could hear the small waves lapping the shore as I drifted off to sleep. My best ever beach in the world was filled with wonderful memories, sand castles, minnows, laughter and happy family days.

For my 40th, we took a family cruise to the bahamas. The beaches there were amazing… as was the water. My favorite excursion was the kayaking trip that lead to a walk through a part of the island onto a private beach for a picnic and playing on the beach. The water was a mix between Hawaiian Shores and Tropical Teal and the sand was so soft! We go to Hawaii next year for our 20th anniversary… as I understand it, those beaches may rival the Bahama beaches!

P.s. for extra special shelling, make sure you go to Sanibel on a single tide day when low tide is just before dawn and hit the beach a half hour before. ; )

As a child, our family spent a week every summer in Destin, Florida. In those day, there were no condos or hotels lining the beaches, only pristine, sugar sand and the bluest water. My childhood memories take me (way) back to Wasaga Beach, near Collingwood, Ontario.
The water was so clear, you could literally walk out a mile on a sandy bottom. The beach was so wide they used to drive cars on it. Our friends raised St. Bernard dogs and I was so small I could ride one of them “Nellie” down to the beach and she’d go right in the water with me.
Fabulous memories of times with parents, although both gone now, and two older brothers. Thanks for jogging my memory of those times gone by.
Emily M. says
I’ve only been to a few beaches…. Ocean City, NJ, Cancun, and the beach in Florida where we took our honeymoon. I loved them all for sentimental reasons. The beach in OC was the first beach we took our kiddos to. The Cancun beach was my first real vacation as an adult. And the beach in Florida, though it was really not a great beach, I loved because it was the first beach I went to with my husband. Truth be told, I’m not much for going in the water at the beach. But I love the IDEA of the beach, combined with a nice clear, jellyfish-free swimming pool, hahahaa….

I have been to many beautiful beaches in my life but Seal Beach in Seal Beach, CA is a special beach for me. Though there are much more lovely beaches nearby, Seal Beach holds many happy memories and traditions. One of our traditions that even my 15 and 14 year olds hold dear is buying a cone of ice cream after swimming, and taking a stroll among the shops.

It was a little unnamed beach in St. Thomas. It is my favorite, because it was the last time my whole family was all together on a beach having a great time. My favorite beach isn’t an ocean beach, it’s Presque Isle State Park in Erie, PA. It’s close enough that I can drive there for a day and still come home to take care of my dog. After a stressful year of teaching, I look forward to simply sitting on the beach, watching the waves, the gulls, the boats, and just letting the water heal my soul. Each beach has its own personality. Hard to choose a favorite, but if forced to choose I would have to say Bermuda. Clear water, beautiful scenery, soft sand. Panama City Beach! I didn’t realize how beautiful the gulf coast can be until I went to some other beaches and was quite disappointed. They didn’t feel be achy enough for me. I supposed because PCB was where I spent at least 1 week every summer growing up.

Coronado island because it was the first beach my son visited and I’ve never seen a face light up quite like his did that day. We spent hours knee deep in water, waiting for the waves to knock us back. Every time the tide passed, he would squeal, “Again, again.” He never grew tired of it; nor did I.

I lived in Laguna Beach in southern California in the 1970’s and still dream of livening there again. I could see the ocean from my miniature apartment, if I stood on tip toes and there was no fog. The smell of the sea air, the sound of the surf, and the glorious views of the water as I drove to and from work filled my soul with joy – every single day – no matter the weather! And on moon lit nights a quick walk along the ocean/s edge in conversation with God released all the day’s weariness and left my heart filled with peace and well being. Thank you for prompting this wonderful memories.

Florida panhandle beaches – The Emerald Coast. Sugar white beaches, crystal clear waters. Pockets of Americana still existed along Highway 98 along with dozens of kitschy tourist attractions in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. Ahh, the things of my childhood.
Teddra says
I love the beaches in Maui. Very relaxing and beautiful sunsets.
Dawn K-M says
My favorite beach is Rialto Beach in Washington State. I’m not a lay in the sand person, I like to explore. This beach is a rugged, rock beach with loud, pounding waves and washed up trees. It is so beautiful. Since I live in Chicago, I don’t get there as often as I’d like, but I find my soul every time I visit!

I’m not really much of a beach person. Playalinda Beach (part of the Canaveral National Seashore), near where I used to live in Florida, is beautiful as far as Florida beaches go (since it is Natl Seashore, there is no development, like condos). But I much prefer a coastline with rocky shores, like in Maine or Oregon.

My favorite beach to visit has always been the Santa Cruz beach in California. The reason I like it so much is that there is so much is that you can take small children there to play in the water because the surf is very calm. Santa Cruz has been my beach for my whole life (which is pushing over 60 years now!). When you are not playing in the water, you can go have yummy food to eat on the wharf! Thanks for the opportunity to win a great gift certificate!

The sandy beaches at any lake in Minnesota. When I was growing up, every day in the summer Mom would pile four kids in her old jalopy, and we would spend all afternoon at the lake. Then we’d go home for dinner, and Dad would come home from work and change into his swimming suit — and back we’d go to spend the whole evening at the lake as well.
