Love your card, Lizzie! I’ve only tried a vellum mask once, but you’ve inspired me to give it another go. Probably I needed the heavy weight as you didn’t have any trouble with the point at the top of the heart. Thank you for a great video!

I love your card Lizzie. Do you know if there is a tutorial on how to cut striped paper diagonally? I did try and used up a whole sheet, which seems wasteful. Thank you.

I have no clue why you sponge the ink all over the vellum outside of the cutout image. The resulting card is pretty, but can’t you just work within the cutout part as well as a tiny bit outside of it to ensure smooth edges? Why sponge such a large area? ?

So pretty, Lizzie! What a great idea to die cut your masks on vellum. I’m sure that will really be helpful for smooth ink blending. Can’t wait to try it! I have vellum cardstock, so I think the masks will be strong enough to reuse again and again. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful technique, Lizzie! ♡

Sweet card. Thanks for the great video and for sharing this technique. I never thought of using vellum to create masks but will definitely be giving it a try.

It’s a personal preference, I suppose. I’ve tried blending a few different ways with varying sizes of scrap paper and this is just the way that has worked best for me. You’re free to use however much scrap space you need to get the results that you’re happy with though. I hope you’ll play along!

Vicki, I don’t think there’s a video specifically regarding cutting the striped paper on a diagonal. I tend to just eyeball the angle, trim off one corner, and do the other three edges from there. If I’m careful I can typically get two card fronts from one sheet of paper. You do use up more paper, but I love how it looks so much that I’m willing to deal with the waste. I also keep the excess bits and use them for die cuts and small accents, so less is wasted that way.

I think using the colored card stock for the card base is very pretty. I have always used the neutrals but I like this better. Thanks again for all the information on how each card is made.
