Is everyone out there having a good time so far? Have you been grooving to our Spotify playlist? Hopefully by now you are feeling like you're in the zone and ready to get into some serious paper crafting! Here we go onto the next challenge!
Use thread and twine in unique ways on your projects with tips and tricks from two of your favorite experts!
Laura Bassen says,"Today's video shares two ways to add "thread nests" to your projects. Adding thread nests is a great way to draw attention to your sentiment or focal point. It adds subtle detail without any bulk. I used my favorite silver thread, which I think is a perfect neutral to match any project for any occasion. I will also show you how I like to manipulate and adhere my thread nests onto my projects as well as sharing some of my favorite card making techniques to set the stage for the thread nests such as ink blending and colorful stamped backgrounds."
–Create a project featuring a thread nest. We know everyone has a spool of thread lying around and we hope this tutorial inspires you to give it a try. Go dig that old spool out of your sewing kit and try adding it to your paper crafting projects in a fresh, new & trendy way.
–Post your project on your blog, in your gallery or on any other photo-hosting site (such as photobucket or flickr). You can also link up here using Instagram!

Twine is inexpensive and so easy to add to your projects in so many different ways! "

Love the Thank you for your kindness card. Who would have thought stamping repeatedly with the various colors would achieve that. Obviously, you did Laura. Thank you for the brilliant idea & your choice of colors. Need to get that stamp. I’ve become a fan???

Great cards! Love Laura, she’s like me…kinda gets off track sometimes but it never affects her beautiful cards! Love Danielle’s twine techniques also. The little twine flowers are so cute.

Currently I’m working on scrapbook pages. These are some terrific ideas for including texture, dimension, and adding a little bit of a new color. Thanks for the ideas. Now to get to work.

Lol, I learned that I need to go and buy some nice, thin silvery thread. The stuff I used is horrendous! The cording makes the card practically a quarter inch thick. :0)

I love seeing how working with nearly the same materials can create such different looks based on a designer’s style! All the examples are so lovely! I’m really going to miss seeing all Laura’s bright, bold, vibrant cards every month!!!!! She really brought a wonderful change of style to the DT (though all the ladies are equally phenomenal in their own way!)!
