The latest trend in watercolor has to be this fun technique known as "smooshing"! Betsy is sharing her tips for how to create these gorgeous backgrounds that have the look of watercolor, however no watercolor paints are needed! These are created with a little ink and water!
If you are joining along this week, here are the details concerning the Make It Monday Challenge.
–A new Make It Monday Challenge will go up every Monday morning at 9am EST.
–Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and watercolor smooshing.
–Please enter new projects only.
–Post your project on your blog, in your gallery or on any other photo-hosting site (such as photobucket or flickr).
–-Add your project to our InLinkz list below. ONLY ONE ENTRY PER PERSON PLEASE.
–You will have until 6am, Monday, March 16, to add your link to the list to be eligible to win.
–We will be tweeting and posting on our Facebook page every night (between 5-9pm EST) highlighting a Featured Project. These tweets/Facebook postings will just be a shout-out regarding projects that caught our eye.
–One randomly selected winner will be chosen from ALL the entries on Monday, March 16, after 6am. The winner will be posted here on this blog post, on Twitter and Facebook. The randomly selected winner will get a $25 PTI gift certificate to spend however they like!

I love the softness of this technique, Betsy! I usually “smoosh” with my acrylic block, but I love how the acetate creates a larger work surface…perfect for the front panel of a card! 🙂

Love doing this on my acrylic block…fun technique. While watching the video though, I was drawn to the scratch pad underneath…that in itself was a fun background! I remember a teacher from long ago, pointing that out in some stamping class…nothing goes to waste!

I will definitely try this technique using acetate. I never thought of using acrylic blocks for that purpose before. I think it might also work using a craft mat. Very pretty and colorful backgrounds.
