Even though we live in Florida, where it’s often 80 degrees on Christmas, we still drink hot cocoa every year. Picking out the marshmallows from the mug was a favorite holiday memory of mine from growing up. I remember as a kid, my dad turning the thermostat way down so we could “pretend” it was cold while we sipped our hot cocoa and sat by the fireplace together.

    Hi Nichole,

I can’t cozy up as you guys since we have summer all year around. Nevertheless my two favorite hot beverages are a cup of expresso made with Puerto Rican coffee and a little bit of milk, you haven’t taste coffee until you taste Puerto Rican coffee! And the second one is a cup of hot cocoa with milk and cheddar cheese, it has to be the semi sweet bars from another Puerto Rican goodie called “Chocolate Cortés”, which is grated and added to the milk, so when it’s done it is thick and yummy and the cheese tastes like heaven which is where my grandmother is residing now after living 100 years among the people who loved her dearly, specially me who was her favorite granddaughter, and I missed her as if it was yesterday that she passed on and it’s been 14 years now, but she was my world and a great example to follow!
So this Christmas as always I will be drinking one of those “Chocolate Caliente” cups (hot cocoa) that she taught me to make and will be remembering her and the wonderful experiences that I lived with her!

    Cariños,
    María Alba

Boy, there are a lot of exotic hot drinks here! I feel so boring — hot chocolate with marshmallows — and if I’m feeling really extravagant I spring for real marshmallows at William Sonoma! And I do love this stunning release! I love Ashley’s oh so simple Merry & Bright card, Heather’s November journaling cards – well all of her monthly cards — I’m taking up PL again just because I love them, Betsey’s wine tag and gift, I love the twig image on Maile’s card shown above, I could go on of course. It’s a wonderful time of the year and a wonderful release to go with it!

-4°F in my part of Colorado, today….so I love to simmer some cranberry juice and cinnamon sticks on the stove. House smells amazing and that warm cinnamon-y (yes, its a word) cranberry juice is so wonderful. Smells like Christmas! Sooo ready for the release party! Too many cute things that I “must” have. Santa’s shopping early, tonight! Thanks!

Hot cocoa with peppermint! To make it extra special add a dollop of whip cream.

I love to curl up with hot cocoa and a book. A fire in the fireplace makes it perfect.

Well, I’m in South Florida and our holidays are usually pretty warm and humid – think pouring rain instead of soft, fluffy snowflakes; tank tops, shorts and flip flops instead of puffy jackets and boots; the a/c running full blast because the oven’s on; and lush greens and tropical color bursting out everywhere – so there’s not a big push for all those warming concoctions but I’ll take a lovely Nespresso made latte or cappuccino anytime!
