My favorite gift to take to a baby shower is a scrapbook or photo album. For crafty mamas, I make a traditional scrapbook album they can add photos & journaling to. So fun to personalize the gift to the recipient 🙂

I like to make over sized crib quilts out of flannel. I make simple block and tied quilts using a variety of prints. My favorite baby shower gift is a diaper cake that I make and inbetween the diaper layers are onesies, outfits, hats, socks,& the middle hold the bigger items like thermometer, baby wash etc. and of course there are the hanging toys. It gets shrink wraped with a large bow and a large “recipe” Tag which includes all the items in the diaper. Now they don’t have to open it at the shower but will know everything inside. This tag hangs right next to my hand made card card.

Kelly in Canada says
If it’s a family member or close friend, I’ll go all out–homemade thank you cards, bibs and a name tag to hang on the baby’s door. I also like to include a sleeper, but I try to buy it in a bigger size since so many people tend to get newborn sizes that the baby barely gets a chance to wear before the item is too small. It’s always nice for a new mom to open a drawer or closet and see a bigger size outfit when it seems like baby has grown out of everything else.
Malyssa M. says
My favorite baby gift is a combination of both handmade and boughten. I almost always give a set of Thank You cards – what new mom doesn’t need thank you cards. And my other favorite is books – I don’t think there is a better gift than a book. Sometimes I also create a set of bookplates so the new Mom can write in the favorite books who gave them to the baby.

But to deepen that emotional bond and strengthen the attachment you share. But, that’s not to say I’m not COMPLETELY excited to order the booties and accessory dies to make a beautiful, unique set for every baby shower I go to in the future. I’m loving this aspect of PTI. If it is a family member, I like to make an 8×8 baby album for the mother to fill in for the first year; she just has to add photos and write what she wants. For a non-family member, I like to fill a basket with basic items every new mother needs when she comes home with the baby. She would also appreciate diapers.
Josiane says
My favorite baby shower gifts are handmade. I usually stamp the baby’s name (with acrylic paint and fabric medium) on a canvas tote bag and then put in a giftcard in a store. When I used to scrapbook, I would also make a 8″ x 8″ baby album so all the parents have to do is add photos and journaling.

I like to give the baby a gift from the registry, BUT I like to give the Daddy a diaper pail gift of necessary tools to take care of the baby, such as tongs, a respirator mask & rubber gloves for diaper changes, as well as several other prank items. I found it on the internet and it was lots of fun at the shower.
Molly B. says
My favorite gift is a nice hand made quilt. Not the super-fancy-afraid-to-get-it-dirty-put-it-away-in-a-box-forever kind though. The kind you toss on the floor to let the baby roll around on or take to the park to have a picnic on. The kind you use everyday and love until it is nothing but threads. That is my favorite gift for a new baby.
