Money! My husband & I have been doing tough for a little while now. We give our kids everything they need but we sacrifice a lot ourselves. My husband surprised me this morning by sneaking $200 into my purse so I could splurge on groceries & have a stress free week. I was so excited. I havnt bought the groceries yet but I did buy my 4 year old son a pop up dinosaur book which he loves so much he’s sleeping with it in bed! It’s definitely going to be a great week 🙂

I keep my younger daughter’s learner’s driving permit (she’s now active duty military) and a note she wrote me from boot camp in my purse. When I need courage, I look at that permit and read her note. I think of where she is and what she’s doing and I tell myself that nothing can scare me because I’m the mom of a Navy Sailor and I was brave enough to teach her to drive when she was in high school!

I’m such a minimalist about purses. I don’t carry one, but I do have a little hard side wallet that holds my important cards and a little currency. I keep it in my pocket. However, I am plagued by the loose coins that accumulate in that pocket! I try to deposit them in my piggy bank, but it is useful to have a few around at times…. So the most surprising thing in my pocket (purse) will soon be a mini coin purse! Thanks for the inspiration, PTI.

And there I was with our 10yo & 7yo and my little wristlet (that I didn’t even NEED b/c my husband was paying!). CRAZY! My 7yo dd carries her purse and wallet with her everywhere and my 10yo son puts stuff in his pockets so all those little things just don’t end up with me anymore.

If you want to know what it said then all I can say is we are still lovingly married 21years later! Thanks for this competition, otherwise I would never have taken that a close look as to the contents of my purse.

The big surprise in my purse is that it is organized. I love this purse with three outside zippers on the compartments. The top one has my billfold, second down has my checkbook & cellphone, and the bottom one has the ring with store swipe cards, lipstick, & scissors. The back pocket is for coupons. I don’t carry as much “stuff” with me anymore. Probably the most unusual thing in my purse now is a supply of bookmarks. They are hand-stamped and have an inspirational saying based on a Bible verse and a peaceful cabin/lake scene. The most unusual thing in my purse is 2 CT scans of my abdomen showing a lovely 1.5 cm kidney stone that has been giving me grief.
Normally the most unusual thing in my bag is my own tea bags. I don’t care for the tea most restaurants have so I carry my own everywhere! Luckily restaurants have never given me grief about it, and I always offer to pay for tea even though I only request hot water.

The most surprising thing in my purse right now is a banana. I always have to carry a small snack with me when running errands to avoid buying junk for the kiddos.

The most surprising thing in my purse is the embarrassing number of lipsticks, lip-gloss , and lip balm I have stashed there. I think it is time to clean it out.

I have a small extendable wand with a magnet on the end. It’s great for picking up pins and paper clips and most anything else I drop.

Another boring purse here – maybe expired coupons and membership cards?
This is such a great release & love all the projects posted 🙂

Ia few years ago, we were challenged in church to take a small card with the name of a young person in our congregation, and to pray for that person for the rest of our lives. That was several years ago, and I continue to pray for “Macy”! Don’t know who she is, but that little card is in my wallet to remind me to pray.

My folding Fiskars scissors? But don’t lots of crafters carry them? So very handy!

Probably the oddest thing inmy purse is a scissors. I should learn a lesson here, but I always put a new one in every time it is confiscated at the airport 🙂

The most surprising thing in my wallet is an old Florida driver license that was issued in 96 and expired in 2003.

Probably just the sheer volume of what I carry but my purse is neither large nor disorganized. I always win those party games where you show what stuff you have in your purse. They ask questions like: do you have-a picture of a loved one? some kind of first aid? Something you put on your lips? Something for cleaning? I always have more than one for each category!!

I would have to say the most surprising thing in my purse is a little tape measure. I never think about it until I am in a store wondering if some “have to have” item will fit in that “perfect” spot! My husband laughs at me but it has come in handy more than once!! Oh yeah, and the money is also a surprise. Although it doesn’t seem to last long, it makes me feel great when I have a little cash on hand.

I always carry a small tape measure in my purse. People always laugh at me when I tell them that, but I have used it so many times.

Ginger chews…not all that surprising until you eat one – them WOW! Spicy and sweet, like a grownup Atomic Fireball.
