If you visit my blog frequently, then you might have noticed that I have been on a bit of a Perfect Pearls kick lately. If you are unfamiliar with Perfect Pearls, it is a pigment powder that has metallic sheen to it. It can be used in a variety of ways, but my personal favorite it just brushing it over a stamped image. I am excited to show you a few projects that incorporate this fun and easy technique!
Here are some still shots of today's projects!
If you are joining along this week, here are the details concerning the Make It Monday Challenge.
–A new Make It Monday Challenge will go up every Monday morning at 9am EST.
–Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and Perfect Pearls or some sort of metallic pigment powder.
–Post your project on your blog, in your gallery or on any other photo-hosting site (such as photobucket or flickr).
–-Add your project to our —>InLinkz List HERE<—
–You will have until 7am, Monday, April 29th, to add your link to the list to be eligible to win. And you can enter as many times as you like.
–We will be tweeting and posting on our Facebook page every night (between 5-9pm EST) highlighting a Featured Project. These tweets/Facebook postings will just be a shout-out regarding projects that caught our eye.
–One randomly selected winner will be chosen from ALL the entries on Monday, April 29th, after 7am. The winner will be posted here on this blog post, on Twitter and Facebook. The randomly selected winner will get a $25 PTI gift certificate to spend however they like!
Good luck to everyone and we look forward to seeing your projects!
EDITED TO ADD: Many people of been asking about "setting" the Perfect Pearls after brushing them onto your stamped images. I have found that once the VersaMark ink dries, the Perfect Pearls have set fairly well. However, if there will be a lot of direct contact with your project, you might want to take extra precaution by sealing it with a very light coating of hairspray! Hope that helps!

Beautiful cards! That blue and yellow/gold one is my favorite! Such a nice color combo and striking contrast! I just came across my perfect pearls stash the other day when I was sorting some of my supplies. I’ll try to see if I can carve out some time this week to play along. 🙂

Thanks for this tutorial, Nichole. I used my PP when I first received them, but they’ve been sitting in a drawer ever since. I appreciate the reminder to get them out and how to put them to work. The timing is perfect because I need to make a wedding card and their magical shimmer fits the occasion.

These are beautiful! I’ve always used my Perfect Pearls with water. Thanks for showing us Nichole!
Kelly Braund says
Beautiful! I was curios, how do you “set” your cards when they’re done? Do you spray with water or use something else to keep the PP on permanently? Thanks for sharing!
Myrna says
I just finished making a beautiful card thanks to your great tutorial. The PP will surely get a lot of use now.
I have already asked the same question as Kelly so will look forward to hearing what you do.
Again, thanks so much.

TFS. I have never seent this technique – have only used the Perfect Pearls as an additive to a mist. Can’t wait to try it.
Carol MJS says
Wonderful video, Nichole! Perfect Pearls is one of my favourite materials to use. Love the way you blended the colours, especially on the first card. Gorgeous! I have found that by misting the finished Perfect Pearls image with water sets the powder as it is water interactive.
Trish says
I love these cards. I ended up buying a couple of the stamps. The problem I am having is that when I wipe with the duster, I get a lot of smearing of the Pearl Ex pigment powder beyond the versamark stamp I am using. Is Perfect Pearls different to not smear?
Conniecrafter says
Just Beautiful, this is the best tutorial I have seen on the perfect pearls!! Thank you for sharing!
