Laura K says
Wow. I love to see craft-rooms. My is just a small spot in the living room. And I love the transparent boxes for dies and bands, and stamps. Easy to see what are you looking for.
Thanks for the chance to win.
Sara L. says
Love your crafty space, thanks for sharing. I don’t have many good tips (I’m the one who needs tips!), but I do organize all my paper and have a folder for each color which makes it really easy to find what I need.
Kristie says
Love your crafty space, thanks for sharing! I absolutely love Stamp-n-Storage products, especially their punch holder for the new style SU! punches.
Toni Storie says
I think your space is very inspiring. Mine is so cluttered. I could use the tips and the magazine. While I know this isn’t unique, I use a shoe organizer on the back of my craft room door to house my punches. The pockets of the organizer are clear plastic so I can see the contents of each pouch.
mdhart says
Love looking at other people’s craft spaces! I have found that what works for me is to have different “stations” where everything is located. I go from my paper station to my embossing, die cutting station, to my stamping station, etc. Keeps everything from being crowded into one area.
SusanP says
Oh, I am so excited to get ahold of this magazine! Organization. Is a must when you have as many supplies as I do. Thanks for the chance to win!
Barbara T. says
congratulations to you Nichole. I would give my eye teeth for a room of my own. But because I have just a space. I make sure all of my containers are labeled with thier contents. Those labels move around from time to time as new ways of organizing come to my attention.
Emily says
Definitely need to get a copy of this. I love your studio … wish I had a room like that! I found these plastic containers that fit 8.5×11 cardstock(varies in thickness) and have been using them to store my unmounted stamps and scraps of cardstock. They’re stackable, so a great room saver.
Jilly says
Hi … my name is Jilly … and I’m an organization-holic! Always looking for new and better ways to store my supplies and tools. I love to “re-purpose” non-traditional items as storage containers … makes the decor more interesting. It takes some time to get organized but once there it frees up my time for the fun stuff … crafting!
Adoree says
You have always inspired me with your craft studio!
Thank you for the chance to win a copy!
Holly Saveur says

Kathy R says
The Martha Stewart collection by Avery has great divided notebook pages that are perfect for storing Papertrey Ink dies. Now I can find what I need so much more quickly.

Natalie Winterstein says
Ohh, I can’t wait to see your studio in the mag! 🙂 Fun. Getting organized is my #1 crafting goal/resolution this year!!!
Caren B says
Love seeing other’s creative spaces. I get a lot of my storage items and ideas from Ikea. I use the magnetic knife holder to for my border dies.
Sharon J says
I love looking at those fab studio spaces! I like to be able to see all my product so I have glass jars in all sizes and shapes to store things like ribbon, twine, washi tape, buttons, etc. They are functional and pretty at the same time!
Thanks for a chance to win this great magazine.
Mutzy Mia says
I always enjoy picking up new “tips” from others and seeing how others have organized their space. This magazine looks wonderful! Copic marker storage has always been something I’ve been looking for…found some great square containers at The Container Store in which I can keep the color families separate. I then keep all the square containers in a plastic basket(with handle) so it’s easy to transport or keep on my worktable. The little square containers also have lids which I normally just keep under the squre container so it’s lifted higher in the basket. Another thing I do is keep folders for each of the stamp companies with card inspiration pictures in them.
Jessica Canham says
I love to peek into other peoples’ craft rooms! I’m just nosy I guess! My craft room is pretty basic with a lot of Sterlite rolling drawer carts. I’d love to be able to afford the Martha Stewart furniture and wish we had an Ikea nearby!
Sally says
I enjoy looking at beautiful craft spaces. Mine isn’t always so neat, but it is a work in progress. I use magnetic tins inside my cabinets to store small things.
pamela says
What a beautiful craft room! My favorite is definitely the spinning carousel organizer!
Joyce says
I love seeing people’s spaces, but honestly where do they keep all their stuff, and it is really ever that clean?
Imke Ludwig says
WOW, those craftrooms are wonderful. I wish i had more space like my little crafty place. Congrats Nicole and thanks for the chance to win !
I organize my dies in those paper cd cases and that´s my ultimate storage tip !
Linda Monroe says
Such a pretty room. It’s beautiful. My favorite organizing tip is one I rarely follow myself and that’s to put everything away BEFORE you leave your workspace. Coming into a clean space each time is so nice. Maybe one of my new year’s intentions will be to take my own advice!
Barbara Axmacher says
What a great room. It’s so big and so neat! One of my tips is to use clear shoe storage bins on the shelves above my desk for the small items. They are easy to reach and help contain all of the “stuff.” I get a good deal on them at Costco but The Container Store has them as well.
Pat says
I’m about to switch my craft space into what used to be the kids’ playroom so this would be a great edition to have!
My favorite tip–I tend to buy stuff that I can stack so that I can build “up” instead of always spreading out.
Janelle says
Perfect timing as I’m needing to re-arrange and re-organize my office/craft space since I will be sharing it with my 1 year old now 🙂
My latest favorite way to store all of my PTI dies is in those cute little mini binders (5×8) with sleeve pages. The pages divided in 4’s are great for the smaller dies… divided in 2’s are perfect for the bigger dies and collections… and the full pages are perfect for the impression plates and the like with some magnetic sheets.
Thank you!
Elle says
I love organization! But make no mistake…..that doesn’t mean I’m good at it. I’m always looking for new & better ways of organizing my stuff. While this certainly isn’t an amazing tip or anything but I LOVE storage bins off all types & sizes. I typically get mine from Target but if I had an IKEA nearby I would definitely be in trouble. Would love to get this creative spaces mag:)
Kimberly S says
Gorgeous studio space you have, but with all of that creativity I think you’d have to have a fabulous space! Love getting inspired by the organization of others! One of my favorite storage items is the clear container from ArtBin with magnetic sheets cut to fit inside that hold the metal dies. It has made it so much easier for me to start using my dies again again! Congratualtions on your feature! 🙂
April says
Oh I am so excited about that magazine! Your space is gorgeous and love that big desk! I bet your hubby made it.
Chris Cross says
Thanks for sharing!

Michelle Collins says
Wow !! Congratulations I love seeing how organised other people are in their craft spaces !
Dawn G says
You have a gorgeous crafting space!! This magazine looks awesome, I’m always looking for tips….my favorite tip is instead of buying a ton of new organizational items, repurpose items you already have! Jars, tins, boxes can all be customized for your needs….and you can’t beat the price 🙂
Judy S says
I am in the process of redoing my craft room and love anything Ikea! Thanks for the opportunity to win a copy of this magazine … it looks great!
Alyssa S says
How fun! I love pics of others spaces! My little tip is to have an ink chart…it saves so much time when you’re looking for that perfect color or combination. In fact, I’m in the process of creating one for my PTI colors to include the Copic swatches, a stamped piece, a small button and a punch of paper
Rebecca Ednie says
Use the same size containers as much as possible. They stack, look tidy and are easy to store. I use two types. One for dies and stamps in CD cases and photo boxes from michaels.
Cindy Otto says
My favorite organizer is an inexpensive metal towel rack attached to the wall to hang all of my punches. It is so easy to find the one I want to use and looks neat!
Leslie says
I so love your craft space! Mine is out in the garage. It’s small, but it’s mine. I wish I had some good tips to share, but I’m the one who’s always looking for ways to improve and be more efficient.
Sandy Kay says
I’d love to have a copy of this edition! My favorite tip is – I bought some rectangular baskets and cut all my 12×12 patterned paper into 6×6 pieces and store them loosely in the baskets in color order, when possible.
Pat Ackley says
I just moved to a new house and have been trying to organize my craft room so it looks pretty and functions well. It’s such a challenge! This issue will certainly help me in my efforts. One tip that I think always helps is to label everything!! If I can find it, I will use it!!
Nancy G says
I love to see how everyone else has their items organized. I like using the plastic containers so I can see inside, then I will use the items more instead of hoarding them. The containers just are not as pretty as I would like. I love the glass jars with the buttons in.
Meghan says
It is so much fun to peek into other crafters’ creative spaces. Is yours always so clean?
Debbie Nelson says
We lost our home and everything in it Jan. 17, 2012. Thanks to many wonderful friends and strangers, we are in a home and have built on a room for crafting, which is getting close to completion. I have been so blessed by others helping me to start over with my craft supplies. I lost a whole room of paper, stamps, inks and other supplies in the fire. I am so grateful and humbled by the generosity of others. These tips will be very useful as I start to move into my new room. Thank you for the chance to win.
see mary stamp says
Most of my favorite crafty storage tips I’ve picked up from you or other PTI designers. Storing like with like works best for me. All of my acrylic blocks are stored in one easy to access container, refills for my tape runner, etc. Best tip – every so often go through your stash of supplies and if something no longer works for you – gift it to someone else who will be thrilled to have it.
diana says
I don’t have a dedicated space (just the dining room table), so my only tip would be to put everything away in the same place so you can find it again when you need it. This issue would be great for my dream craft room design file! 😉
izolda says
I’m renovation my studio now (in fact “novating” it as I recently move to my apartment and do not have everything set yet). So browsing the net looking for ideas, tips, etc. Already gathered a LOT. But still have some spots I don’t know how to organize better.
For the best tip I would say I really like way of storing extra die-cuts in envelopes next to die I made the die-cut with. In that way I always now that I already have one and don’t need to cut one more (storing all die-cuts separately never worked for me, kept forgetting to check that folder).
Here the post i did a little review of my organizing proccess – http://izo-lda.blogspot.com/2012/09/kick-start-3-organizing-supplies.html
Ashlee Townsend says
I LOVE my Rubbermaid storage drawers for storing my paper scraps. They are meant for 12 X 12 paper and come in a set of three. I have a HUGE stack of them, and they fit right under my desk. I sort my scraps by color and when I’m done with a project, I just throw the scraps right in the drawers to use later!!
Jen Rzasa says
I use photo boxes and cd storage boxes to hold most of my supplies, and make sure to label each clearly so I know what’s inside!
Elizabeth K says
Love your studio. My favorite tip is keeping all my PTI dies in the plastic CD envelopes. I
cut a piece of magnet the same size and then put it into the envelope!
Carlijn says
Great magazine and I love your craft room, so much space! 😀
Nancy L. says
I don’t have much of supplies, but when I find a new organization piece I love to reorganize and find new things I had forgotten about!
lori says
love your space!! I love to use vintage dishes and containers to corral my things.
Wendy G. says
I get a lot of my storage from Ikea. I love my rails with hanging baskets above my desk. I store my PTI ink there. This photo was taken last summer. I now have lots more ink and all the little jars are full of PTI buttons. 🙂 http://www.flickr.com/photos/92187613@N08/8371437962/in/photostream
Thanks for a chance to win!
Kristin Tierney says
I love seeing how others organize their crafty spots. Yours is gorgeous! I’m oozing with jealousy….
Erika Hyde says
Your space is amazing!!
My favorite tip is to keep the things you use most close by. I keep all of my PTI cardstock separated by color in a large paper cube on my desk so it’s all at arms reach. I also keep my ink pads, favorite go-to adhesive and scissors within reach.
Julie says
we actually have an EMPTY room – I’ve convinced my husband that it could be a fabulous creative space for his lovely wife – would love some tips/inspiration before I jump in and furnish it 🙂
Sandy P. says
My storage tip is just to have tons of containers. I use jewelry containers to separate my embellishments by colors.
Jen Carter says
My favorite tip is to use the canvas tubs! I love to “hide” things in the pretty assortment that they have available now while adding color to my space!
Jennifer says
My favorite storage tip is storing buttons in jars that are screwed to the underside of a shelf through the top of the jar.
I am trying to post but I seem to be having issues. I will keep trying and here’s my BLOG incase I can get it to work. Always looking for new ideas to purge!!

That issue looks very inspiring. Thanks for the chance of winning it. I love it to have an organized space (I think thats because I am a librarian 🙂 ) so I have a lot of organized things. My punches are sitting on a kitchen reling, I absolutely love my stamp pad tower and my box with papertrey dies on magnetic sheets and a lot more.
Colleen says
What a beautiful and neat craft space you have. I try to stay organized but it never really happens. My favorite tip is to keep all your paper colors and designs (wedding, baby, etc..) together in their own clear plastic container so you can see what you have on hand. This magazine would be great to win, thanks for the chance to win it!
Barb K says
My craft room is very special for me, a place to create, plan, get inspired and get organized. My tip to organize is I’ve made my own PTI catalog of all the PTI stamps and dies I’ve purchased. I have copied and pasted the pictures into a graphics program and printed it out as a reference guide. I have an index (excel) so I can find all the various stamps within my catalog. It is something I use every time I sit down to stamp. I’ll definitely get this magazine as I love your workroom and always striving for a better way.
nina says
Oh man, if I read this special issue I’ll be drooling all over the place! I don’t have any new ideas, but I do like storing my small scraps in roygbiv order in a photo box. I think i will make a separate box for just PTI colours. Larger scraps go in a folder at the back of my fresh sheet folders.
Jodi (Jodi&jade) says
Thanks for sharing your new craft space. For me I can stress how important it is to have ONLY the things you love in your space and more importantly keep uncluttered and don’t stuff to many things into your space. That’s my tip
Renee Brantner says
Love your space! Looks ideal!
Lauren says
Love your room!! 🙂 My favorite storage tip is one that you taught me…to store my dies in CD sleeves in a CD box.
pat.tanya@sbcglobal.net says
I keep my dies in a box like you showed once on you blog. Very handy. I used the labels on the corner of the cd sheet and everything. I need all the help I can get.
Victoria Nelson says
Nichole, your craft room looks like a haven of tranquility. I would love to work in such a lovely space. My crafing tip? Keep supplies you must use up in your line of sight otherwise you will forget about them! (A tip I would do well to heed myself!)
Kris says
My favorite craft item/tip is a revolving 2 tier desk organizer I purchased from the Pottery Barn outlet a good number of years ago. It sits in the corner right in front of my workspace and holds everything I use often…acrylic blocks, glue, glue dots, embossing powders, smooch, stamp cleaner…I couldn’t stay organized without it!
Mary S - Big Mamma says
On of my favorite is I had this old (but in perfect condition) 8 shelf wire rack that held spice on my pantry door. When my pantry got a over haul I took it off and mounted it in my craft room. Now it holds all my ribbon. They fit in there perfectly.
richard says
My best storage is all of the ikea towel bars I have up to hold my punches! They’re all visible and easy to grab.
Marsha says
Great timing! We are getting ready to move to a new home in March, but sadly (sniff-sniff), my stamp room will be a bit smaller than it is currently. I need to make some changes in the next month or so with regard to supplies/inventory, so this might just be the inspiration I need to do that. I hate to get rid of my huge rubberstamp collection (wood mounted), but it needs to be trimmed down alot. And oh, I have that birdcage card holder thingie too … love it!
Kara says
Beautiful room!! I’d love the see the other fantastic spaces!
JessicaK says
I have a craft “corner” vs. a room, and one of my fave space-saving tips is using jars (like pickle jars or old spice jars) to store my embellishments.
Sue says
What a fabulous space you have. I have a little 9×10 room that is filled with Ikea storage. One of my favorite storage areas is behind the door I used the Ikea photo shelves that are 4″ deep by about 4 feet long. I have about a dozen of them going up the wall. They have a lip on them so them of them are right side up and hold ribbon while others are upside down and hold jars for button, punches, stamps, etc… They are just deep enough to hold one row of things.
Annette P. says
I’m ready to build a new house designed AROUND my craft room! But hubby isn’t going for it! He did glue magnetic sheets onto yard sticks for me, that hang on the wall and hold my dies.
Therese says
Oh my! Your workspace looks amazing! My tip – I love my copics but there is no way that I can afford (or need) all the colours, so I have one set of each family (more for green & brown though) and the refills for each. If I don’t have the colour I need, then out come my prismas!
Thanks so much for the chance to win and for sharing!
Sue S. says
I love looking at other crafters’ amazing craft rooms! My favorite storage (and decorating) tip is to use small glass jars/containers to store small embellishments such as buttons, ribbon, brads, etc. I have mine on different shelves around my craft room and it looks really cute! Thanks for a chance to win 🙂

I scanned through this issue quickly the other day at my local bookstore-would just love to spend more time admiring all the work spaces!
Cindy C says
I’m really interested in finding out more info on die storage! My dies are all in a bread tin & a mess…need some way to organize them!
Sue Symens says
I have moved my dies to plastic CD sleeves. They take up almost no room and I can lable the top of them and just flip through to find what I want. Thanks for the chance to win!
Barb Ghigliotty says
Congrats on having your studio featured in the magazine! I can see how beautiful, organized and bright it is…and I’m so jealous!
My favorite tip is using the Martha Stewart collection by Avery to organize my dies (PTI), of course!
Thank you so much for a chance to win…fingers crossed!
Kate L says
Oh I love looking at other people’s craft spaces. They always have great ideas, great design, and lots of inspiration!
Aside from using post-it notes to help label things in opaque boxes, I actually like to reuse those hollow ribbon spool cores as mini stackable containers. It’s hard to describe, but I take one end off the spool and plug-up the bottom middle hole on the other side with some cardboard, and voila! You have a little bowl to add small embellishments in! Re-purpose multiple, and you can stack them on your desk very easily!
Karen Rose says
I don’t really have a craft room but I use labelled photoboxes to hold a lot of my supplies. I can stack them easily and the fact that they are labelled helps me pick the right box for the thing I am looking for. I’m in the process of getting a cabinet made that holds these boxes efficiently. Thanks for the chance to win.
Carol Celeste says
Your space is gorgeous. I could really use this issue as I am in the process of converting a spare bedroom into my craft room! thanks for sharing.
Kristen Foreman says
Can’t wait to move! I’ll be getting my own craft/studio room. So excited!!!
Nancy Penir says
Nichole, how thrilling to see where you work! Organization is key to any craft space. My tip favorite is a wood cubby container my son made me for my copics. Diamond shaped holes hold the color ways on their sides so I can instantly see each shade. Thank you for the chance to win!
LR says
My room is a work in progress. I would love to have a room like yours, Nichole! I store my ribbon and buttons by color. I wrap my ribbon around the old-fashioned clothes pins, which is a tip I got from you! Thanks for the chance to win this inspring magazine, which I sure could use!!!
Kim Heggins says
This is one amazing craft space, so beautiful and so organized. My favorite tip is using the clear shoe boxes from The Container Store to store individual colors of embellishments.
Betty Sue says
lOVING your space!! I put my clear stamps in containers that hold cds and they have a little drawer and sleeves that you can write on to stay organized.
Sheri says
What a great magazine! I just bought some old library card catalogs and have a ton of stuff stored in them. I would love to learn what others do to organize.
Donna Nuce (Crafty Colonel) says
I have to say the ArtBin magnetic storage for dies is the best thing I have purchased for organizing.
cassi says
My crafting space is a disaster. Knowing that I am moving soon, I kind of gave up organizing and all of my new supplies are piling help. I would love to see some inspiring pictures!
shelly k says
LOVE seeing beautiful organized clean rooms…makes me realize that I need a room for crafting…hmmm…but that means I need a new house with a room! 🙂
I’ll just enjoy the inspiration of others. My favorite thing is the armoire where I can hide all my stuff!!
Amrita says
Love your space – very inspiring!
I scan all of my stamps so I have a digital catalog I can easily “flip” through.
Djanelle says
This new creative spaces magazine looks like a great one. Congrats Nichole, for being included.
Chris says
I had gotten a metal die storage tip from Jennifer McGuire by installing magnetic sheets on the inside of the doors on my big storage armoire. Now when I have the doors open, I can see my dies. Makes it much easier to grab one and go. Close the doors and they are out of sight. You can buy magnetic rolls of material at craft stores. I used the 8-1/2 by 11 sheets that Avery makes that can be printed on. My friends love the idea and are copying it, as well.
Helen F. says
Your studio looks amazing, Nicole. Thanks for the sneak peek 🙂
I love being organized, I have clear shoe boxes with different craft items clearly labeled (ie: brads, gems, chipboard, glitter, etc) on shelves in a cabinet my husband built for me.
Priscilla from California says
My favorite organizing tip is to have a professional organizer around at all times; I’m terrible at organizing and keeping my craft room clean (and organized…in my mind, they’re almost synonomous).
Leigh Penner says
My favourite storage idea is a toss up between two things: the baskets I store my PTI stamps stored in Tim Holtz folders and my 12″ revolving stacked trays, in which I store my PTI inks, twine, tools, etc.
Thanks for the chance to win!
Kathryn Berthiaume says
love the clean crisp whiteness of these scrap rooms! My favorite thing is having lots of adjustable thin 12 x 24 shelves i can pull out on either side of my scrap desk where i keep everything for making my crafty projects.
Carol B says
Your craftroom is to drool over, Nichole! My favorite tip is storing my teardrop ink pads in plastic floss containers! You can store a lot in a small space!
Kimberli Sarsfield says
My favorite tip is binders! I store all of my clear stamps as well as my dies (On magnetic sheets) in binders.
Becky P. says
I would love to win this issue. I have been working on my craft space for an hour a day, and I am getting no where. So far, my best tip is using an old dresser with the doors removed to stack storage bins full of fabric, paint, tulle, etc.
KathleenA says
I love to store my unmounted stamps in inque boutique 8 1/2 x 11 clear clamshell organizers. I can fit several sets of the same theme together and it is so easy to flip through binders to find just what I need. Your space is awesome!
Margaret says
What a fabulous and timely issue. We are in the process of finding a new home and of course, creating a suitable craft room. Thank you.
Lindsey says
Your space is BEAUTIFUL!!! Oh, my. It’s heavenly. We live in a pretty small space, and since the birth of our son, my craft space has been moved into the closet…literally. So my favorite space-saving storage are the shoe organizers that hang inside the doors. I can fit A TON of things in them, and everything is totally visible and easy to grab. I loved them so much that I’ve hung one in the pantry now, too.
Tosha says
All of my stamps, dies and inks are on my desk. I built a box from 1×6’s that spans 7′ the length of my desk. It sits on its side to the back of my desk. CD’s fit in the box perfect. The box also acts as a shelf for mugs filled with pencils, scissors and other essentials, as well as a display for my creations. My desk is covered with glass which makes for easy clean up.
Caryn S. (Scrapnsing) says
Love my giant Expedit wall unit from IKEA! It fits 12×12 paper easily.
Sharon D says
I would love to win this issue, because I need to organize my supplies and get my crafting room set up. My best tip is how to keep from losing little clear stamps: Keep one of the acetate sheets PTI stamps come on out on your work surface, and use it as a holding area for little stamps. A stamp must ALWAYS be in its storage case, on a block, or on the holding sheet. That way, it is stuck to something it should be stuck to and won’t get stuck to something it shouldn’t.
Irene C says
Love to see new & different ways to organize in the craft room! I love CD boxes to hold stamp sets & dies that are in CD cases. Love to update to any new ideas!
Mary Lou Kemp says
Wow, so thats where all the magic begins for Papertrey Ink! I am in the process now of trying to organize my room and my favorite tip right for now is storing my dies on magnetic sheets in a container made for that purpose by ArtBin…I just love it and it makes taking my dies with me to any scrap/card making event very easy and convenient.
JeanFB says
What fabulous spaces! My husband had a large CD cabinet with lots of square compartments that housed thousands of CDs (an old Pottery Barn purchase). When we downloaded everything for digital use, we stashed away the CDs and I repurposed the cubbie as the perfect place to store my inks and rolls of ribbon. I’m looking forward to seeing what creative ideas are in this issue!
kim k says
My organizing tip is to use plastic containers from the produce and the bakery sections of the grocery store. I label them and keep scrap paper or embellishments in them. I love that I am repurposing as well as saving money so that I can buy more products.
Cindy Reynoso says
Wow! Nice room you have and you are a great person to be featured! I took over my son’s room when he moved out…I have a great space. My favorite tip was actually one of yours! I keep all my dies in the white CD envelopes and label them with the clear address labels…loved that idea of yours!
Teresa B says
Love your room, Nichole! My DH built me a ribbon shelf like yours, and I love that too! One of my favorite storage solutions in my craft room is my Ikea bygel rods with the little buckets. Hold so much and everything is at my fingertips.
Grace says
I wish my craft space was that neat! I have tons of hobbies from sewing, to stamping, to knitting). I have mini suitcases from the kids gift section to house my bits and bons. So all buttongs go in one case, inks in another, sewing threads in yet another, and because they stack, they look super cute on the shelf. I label them all so that I can find things in a jiffy.
Rachelle says
my favorite tip…have a place for everything and then put it there. ha! easier said than done.
Sandygail says
Oh, I love your space. I’ve been hoping to see it. I don’t have a tip other than I keep my dies in the CD storage boxes. I need to get this magazine to get more tips.
Lisa says
Oh goodness I think organization is my middle name! Would LOVE to have a copy of this to drink in, thanks for the chance to win!!!
Candy says
I have a wire (originally intended for a little curtain) with clips hung behind my computer/desk. Makes a great ‘bulletin board’ taking up very little space. Got mine originally from West Elm, but have seen similar at IKEA
Serendipity says
I would LoVe to see your new creative space in your new home and how you planned it! Can’t wait to see it even if I have to actually buy a copy!!!
Kemma says
neat! my favorite storage space idea is my old cassette wall storage unit that I now keep all my stamps in. You can see it in the second photo down on my Stamp-a-Faire blog http://mykemmacards.blogspot.com/2012/07/2012-stamp-faire.html

Your craft space is something I look forward to seeing and drool over lol!

I am starting with a blank space now that we have an extra room spare so would love this for some great ideas.
Congratulations on having your own space featured 🙂

Angela Lemmons says
Your space is beautiful, Nichole!! My new year’s challenge is to keep my crafting table free of clutter instead of stacking supplies sky high!! So far, so good, and it’s so much easier to sit and craft quickly when I don’t have to clear the space first.
erin says
Oh, I’d love to get my hands on this issue, stunning space. Tips… I don’t have any, I’m a mess.
Kelly Braund says
My tip is to always keep your most used supplies close and easy to put back!
fiona says
I like to keep all my punches lined up on the wall so they are easy to see and save another place getting cluttered with them like in a drawer or something. Plus they are easy to spot when they are on the wall so I use them more often.
Connie G says
Congratulations!! Your craft space is to die for! I literally stamp in a closet. No joke. Because space is so limited, my favorite organizational tool is my peg board which houses curtain rods with all my punches!
Julie Carlisle says
My best organizing tip would be to once per year go through all your ‘stuff’ and decide what to keep and what you can donate. Just do it….it is so freeing!!
Keri says
While I don’t have many crafty storage tips…I could probably use a copy of this magazine! ;)…I love how spacious your craft room is! Personally, at this point, I’d love something, ANYTHING, clutter free and organized.
Lori B says
This storage issue looks so inspiring! I am more in need of storage ideas than having any unique ideas to share. Thanks for the chance to win!
Susan T says
I love to have things at arms reach and ready to use so my crafty tip is to use command hooks. I added one to the underside of my craft table leg and hung my embossing heat gun so it is ready when I am.
Sarah Kegley says
I don’t have a craft space; I have a craft TABLE in the home office I share with my DH. My favorite organization systems are the jelly jars holding my Prisma pencils and the canning jars holding buttons. They look so pretty all lined up and add a lot of color to a fairly bland space. I’d love to see what others do with a small space.
Sarah (Kegbo)
Isabel Z says
I love to organize and your space is fabulous! My favorite organizer in my craft room are free standing carts that have open space for hangingfiles and in those I keep my PTI paper and tuck scraps into a file closed file folder. There is a shelf on top that holds my Big Shot, PTI stamps, and dies.
Hydrangeas and Harmony says
My fav tip is to label everything!
Gaby says
love it! I am all about organizing. My scrapbooking room is full of idea. For example, I have brands inside a spice rack, washi tape is inside a cookie jar. Thanks for the chance to win the magazine!
Lisa says
Thanks for the chance to win.
Kelly says
Nichole, I love your space. I tend to keep the tools I use most often within reach. I have also found differing the depth of the draws of my desk to be a big help. Thanks for the chance.
Cheryl B. says
Gorgeous craft room. My favorite organization tip is storing my Copics by color in the terrific Color Cubbies. Thank goodness they are available again.
Kay says
One of my most useful tips is making a stamp ink key. Then it’s easy to match your papers with the ink. I use mine every time I work in my craft room.
Whitney says
I’m so jealous! Someday I’ll have a room like that!!
Emelyn says
Perfect timing! We recently moved to a new house and I finally have my own craft room. I am literally unpacking boxes right now and I seriously need this extra help and inspiration. Favorite tip? Well… it’s more like a new years resolution… don’t buy to keep, buy to use (unless it’s buttons :-)! And if you mess it up… o-well! At least you can throw it out used rather then because it went out of style!
Karen Stein says
I’m always looking at ways to get organized and I never seem to be. I like to pretend that I’m organized when I kind of just throw stuff here and there. Disorganized chaos I call it. I love to look at other tips and tricks though
Diane says
What a fun giveaway – no big tips for me – best crafty organizing tip is to make more cards – thus freeing up space for new items!
Annette Snyder says
Love the creative space! Everything has a place and put everything in its place. Then you can always find what you are looking for. THanks so much!
kathyfl57 says
I love organization and IKEA! I am constantly reinventing different areas of my craft/office area. Ikea Expedit is a must have for my space and I feel lucky to have a store located an hour away!
Tammy W says
What an awesome magazine, would love to read this one! I love to have a carousel type container on my table to hold my most used tools. It comes in handy and is great to have near by to put things back (right away!) so I can find them next time. Thanks for the chance to win this mag, would love to see your room, Nichole. What an honor to be in the magazine. : )
JoAnn Pollock says
I love your space. The room is sooooo big. My favorite organizing tip is to use ikea bars for punches and I keep a binder of all my stamps that I can flip through when I need to find an image.
andrea smith. says
that is so neat that your studio is featured in this magazine! i wish mine was that clean lol 🙂
i started storing my washi tape in clear mason jars (with wide.mouth lids)…it looks so pretty sitting on a shelf and i can see what rolls are in each jar, plus it’s easy to dump out and throw them back in quickly without any mess or fuss.
Suzanne Russell says
My favorite storage pieces are canvas containers designed to fit into a cube from Office One. These “drawers” are the perfect size to store my old and new Papertrey Ink stamp set, those in CD cases, and those in DVD cases. I also use these for storing all of my dies in their CD sleeves as you suggested a long time ago. These containers fit perfectly on the shelving in my craft area and are kinda pretty with the Mat Stack I labels I attached to them!
Pam Sparks says
I love the stufftainers for unmounted stamps! Thanks for the chance! Lovely stamp room!
Stacy Simpson says
Your room is amazing!
My favorite organizing item – my Ikea Expedit. Seriously, my favorite crafty storage purchase. The openings are big enough for a 12×12 album and perfect for cute bins, baskets to hold crafty supplies.
Jennifer Turner says
Love your space….wish mine were half as big lol! I use a clear Ball jar to keep my markers and tools upright and organized. Looks cool too =)
Karen W says
My favorite tip is storing all my papertrey ink dies in clear cd sleeves. I make creative covers showing the die, name , size and coordinating stamps. Makes die cutting and stamping easier
Jann Gray says
Loved getting a glimpse into your creative space…lovely is what it is! Am sure you feel inspired just walking into it!
My favorite tip at the moment is to use vintage bowls from my grandmother and mom (things they would have used in their kitchens) to keep my little bits and piece on my desk – if I am cutting a die for a particular project, I will cut an extra one or two…and instead of “filing” it away to be forgotten…I toss it into one of the bowls on my desk to be rummaged through when I need an extra little something for a card or scrapbook page. When it gets too jumbled to be creative – I purge…putting extra little cuts in an envelope with a note and mail it to my niece (who loves paper crafting) or write a note to a friend and drop a little surprise into the envelope.
The bowls are a sentimental way for me to have two very important women around me, they are great for keeping things I want to use in front of me and they repurpose things that would be kept “safely in the pantry” except for special occasions so that I can enjoy them on a daily basis.
Look forward to seeing more of your space when I can get my hands on a copy of the magazine! Super fun to see and be inspired by all the creative ideas it will have!
Charmayne says
Awesome idea for ribbons. Get straw holders to store ribbon spools! Just pull up the top and the whole stack comes up, no need to remove spools to use! Love how you can quickly see what you have!

I love seeing how other people organize their space. Thank you for sharing with us. My condo is too small for me to have a crafting space, so I simply LOVE using new, thin drawers in my closet to store my paper crafting supplies.
Jean says
Congratulations Nichole on being featured in the magazine! The best tip I have (which I am terrible at following)is to start with a clean work space each time.
Shirley K says
What a pretty and well organized craft space! I have a system for organizing paper scraps in a basket in my desk. Only works if I put scrape in the basket though!
Doris says
Boy do I need this! The room is a big jumble.
Candy says
I love the new stamps!
Kathy Schweinfurth says
I’m always looking for new, fun ways to organize my space. I love seeing what other people have done (this magazine looks like it has beautiful ideas!!)
A couple of things I’ve done: using peg board and curtain extension rods, created a place to house a lot of my punches. Another idea is using 6×6 chipboard, I covered with pattern paper and used strips of magnet to store my dies and “file” them in a metal storage box next to my big shot.
Sheri E. says
Last time when you showed us pictures of your craft room I tried to figure out how to fit in the lovely IKEA cabinets into my room to no avail. I love collecting interesting jars to hold buttons, ribbon, washi tape and whatever else. I also use wood spools and clothespins to store my ribbon.
Mimi says
Wow, you have a gorgeous creative space! I use all of my mason pasta jars and re-use them as storage containers. I just paint the lids and voila instant storage for all of those fab embellies that I hoard 🙂
Cindy Holshouser says
This looks like such a great issue. If I don’t win it I will be buying it:)
My favorite feature in my room is my trash can. I have a large IKEA table that is meant to be a conference table. There is a ‘trap door’ on one end that is supposed to be fore computer cables. Under the door I attached a plastic storage bin that slides on/off of guides so it removable for emptying. When I am working I keep the little door open and just toss scraps in:)
Mary says
Beautiful work spaces! Would love to get some ideas.
Barbara M says
I love seeing others craft spaces sometimes get some ideas and inspiration. I just keep my area neat which helps because my space is small. I use cropper hopper paper holders in bookcase and have my paper sorted manufacture , colors , theme and size.
BarbaraB says
I like to use the Jetmax modular storage units. I got mine from Michael’s when they would go on sale. Lots of ways to organize with the different units.
Lynne Phelps says
I have antique printer’s drawers on the wall which hold all my ink refills. It looks great and I love seeing all the colors!
Kari V says
Love your craft room!!! Congrats on being asked to be in the magazine!! I have an awesome rack that can hang on the wall that I store all of my ink pads in. I think it was meant for cd storage. It is great for stamp pads!
Linda says
I always enjoy looking at craft spaces. Thanks for a chance to win.
Manda says
My tip is to not have too much stuff! I don’t have a craft room and storage is minimal in my house so I just don’t buy unless I really need it.
Morag says
Beautiful space – it gives off a serene vibe 🙂 My current favorite storage item is a basket that fits embossing folders & impression plates perfectly. I have created indexed tabs and sorted them by pattern (e.g., swirls, frames, stripes/plaids, dots/circles, etc.) and can now find them and access them so much more easily than I could when they were in Cuttlebug binders.
Peggy Allen says
I could only dream to have a craft space like this. I do love to get ideas on organization for other fellow crafters and this magazine looks divine.
God bless,
Peggy
Sandy W, says
I use a Sears toolbox for my mounted rubber stamps. The drawers are the perfect depth and if I ever choose to sell my stamps the toolbox can be used by my significant other.
Also I use clear boxes (shoebox size) for my ink pads so that I can see what color I want at a quick glance.
sano says
Magnetic strips are my life savers. I can see all my dies as they are mounted on the front of my craft cabinets!
misse336 says
One of my favorite organizing things is photo boxes. I use them to store all sorts of things – they stack well, are inexpensive, have pretty patterns and have a spot for labels on the front so I know what’s in each box.
beth says
I love old things so I use old apple crates to store my dsp and stamps, they work great stack 3 high!
Rose A says
My favourite organizing tip is to make organization part of your decor
So I love to store things like buttons, ribbons and embelishments out in the open or in clear storage. That way the rainbow they make is always on display.
Diane says
Love seeing different ideas for organizing my craft area. I have a shelving unit from Ikea and love being able to see all my products at a glance. Thanks for the chance to win.
Pamela A says
I would love to have this in my hot little hands, love seeing what others find useful and what works for them. I organize my scrap paper by color – larger sheets are kept in a file folder and smaller pieces are kept in a box, by all are seperated by color – makes looking for a scrap so much faster and better than cutting up another piece of paper. Congrats on your post in the magazine!
donna says
I would just love to update my dark, dingy basement playroom/craft space. Your room is gorgeous! My only good tip is my shoebox of small scrap cardstock. I organize by the colors of the rainbow, it takes up very little space, I have every shade of cardstock in the box so anytime I need a small piece of cardstock or need to figure out what color would look best on my project I have them all handy.
Mary Ann T says
This is the time of year I always take time to look through my supplies and reorganize. I find it reminds me of all the stuff I have and haven’t been using. Sometimes I think I have as much fun organizing as creating. This book would certainly be inspirational.
Debbie S says
I enjoy seeing how others organize their space. Your design studio is amazing. My favorite organizing tools are my over the door shoe holders that I use to store ribbon, PTI felt and punches.
Kristy says
Love your room! So organized! My newest organization tip is keeping all my die cuts in a binder with small pockets, labeled as to which die it is.
Donna M. says
I love seeing what others have done to become more organized. The magazine looks like it’s full of tips. I think the best thing I’ve done lately is to get a few “color cubbies” to organize my copics. They’re sturdy, & have made a huge difference!
lisa m says
I love to see others crafty spaces, I have just a corner in my bedroom and someday hope to have my own space so I will file away ideas for that day thanks for a chance to win
Victoria h says
Wow- that’s an impressively organised craft room. My space is a mess! I dream of being organised!!!
gladys says
I love seeing all the ink together. Having stack them up n use then when i need them! Love to win this!
Karen says
Hi and thanks for the chance to win this! I can use some help organizing my craft room. I keep my markers in a spinning carousel (used for kitchen tools) on my work space so they are easy for me to grab the right colors.
Margaret says
I took a decorative box and turned it on its side so the lid opens up. Then I put dividers inside so I could stack my inkpads! Works great and keeps them behind a very attractive door.
sue snyder says
Love your space and I could add some of the ideas to my space. Our little at home get away
Jan says
Other people always have the best organizational tips and I like incorporating some of them into my own space. One that works well for me is to keep my white and cream-colored scraps in their own plastic baggie standing up in a small tin on my desk. I check there first when I need just a bit of that color. This really helps cut down waste for me and is a time-saver, too!
Barb W says
Oh, to have a space like that to work in…such a dream come true. If I would win that issue, I would laminate it first thing due to drooling as I looked at it. I use my spinning organizer the most, but I am also in the process of trying to organize right now, so all the help I can get would be appreciated. This edition would really be a wonderful help with that.
Beth says
Awesome room!
Marnet McCann says
We built a new house last year, which included a craft room…..Im STILL trying to get it organized as well as make it a pretty space to do my crafting…..I would love to win this !
Sue D says
You have a beautiful craft space. Mine is in an unfinished basement and lacks decorative touches. I do have a great bench to stamp on. I like to store items by color.
Kathleen says
Nicole—what a beautiful work space you have—and such a treat for us to get to see it! I’d LOVE to have a copy of this issue!
Cindy Coutts says
Well of course my favorite space is yours! It’s perfectly organized and not cluttered. Your closet is a gem tucked away and efficient. I love the birdcage on the back wall to display your cards and of course, all of the beautiful custom pieces that David builds for you. Your space is very cozy and homey too. I was blessed to have my father make a significant investment of $12K at his condo in Chico CA since that is my retirement destination. We custom built it together. We just need to work on an island as I like to stand up while crafting and especially doing videos and floor to ceiling storage. The counters are quartz in my favorite granite pattern since granite is porous and one spill would be fatal. I would love to win this magazine to get additional ideas for my condo craft studio. Where I’m at now, I currently have the entire Martha Stewart product line, all pieces and several duplicates to fit my needs. I do have to admit that storing my PTI stamps has always stumped me as I have 2 birdcage CD holders and when you went to the larger DVD cases, it seems that my stamps are a bit scattered, so I could definitely use some help there.
I adore your little sitting area and it’s truly your space just the way that you like it and perfect.
I also very much enjoyed your special guest, your little girl, Hannah, for this week’s MIM challenge.
Thank you so much for sharing. This magazine, or all of them, would be of great help to me.
Ruth Allmart says
This magazine looks amazing and I need to get my hands on a copy! I could move right in to your room and never leave 🙂 I am a huge fan of Ikea for storage pieces. They are in my budget and work perfectly to store all my stamping/scrapbooking/jewelry making/knitting/sewing supplies.
Josiane says
Your studio is beautiful! I still keep my PTI stamp sets in CD cases. Since I stamp in more than one room in my home and also stamp at a friend’s house, I need a portable storage solution. I store the CD cases in zippered bags with plastic CD shelving inside. There are two sizes – one which can hold 30 cases and one which can hold 60 cases. They are affordable since they are frequently sold at thrift stores.
Thanks for the giveaway!
Bette manning says
Your craft space is beautiful, mine always seems messy. I love to look for different ideas, people are so creative.

I am a lover of antique and primitives and my home is filled with lots of timeworn pieces. I use old wooden boxes and crates for storage as well as stacked old suitcases.
Your studio is wonderful! Thanks for the chance to win.
Deb H says
What a dream … to have studio space and not have to use the dining room table!
I am not very organized and maybe this is the year to begin. I do make copies of each stamp set picture sheet to keep in a binder. This way I can flip through the binder to look for the perfect sentiment or image. You are always an inspiration.
Kathy Carpenter says
I love your space, thanks for sharing. I recently recently remodeled my studio due to a flood. I am just getting everything back in and organized. I love to see how others are organizing their spaces.
Betty Meyskens says
Your craft studio looks fabulous – can you come and redesign mine. I purchased IKEA storage drawers and table tops – I do love them, but just need help with the decorating of the room. So I’m thinking this magazine will give us some great ideas.
Vicki A. says
I have a craft room and use clear storage containers from Office Depot to hold stamp sets and dies. My mini stamps are in a binder inside Martha Stewart sectioned photo sheets, these can be purchased at Staples. I am always open to new organization ideas. Looking forward to seeing the magazine!
Suzanne D. says
I remember a while ago you had a contest for someone to come and stamp with you in your gorgeous stamp room, and I had absolutely convinced myself that I was going to win. LOL. I was totally crushed when I didn’t, but was super excited for the lovely lady who did get the chance to stamp with you in your stunning space. Congrats on having your space featured and thanks for a chance to win!
Holly Field says
Loved the first issue. Can’t wait to get the second. I love checking out IKEA for storage ideas. I love my IKEA drawer unit. The drawers are great for my punches and dies.
Iris says
Great craft rooms, wish I had more space! Thanks for a chance to win.
Crisanne D. says
Unfortunately my creative space is far from organized! I need many, many ideas to tame the spreading of my supplies. One tip I do have, I like to store my papers in color families. For example: Reds and pinks together, oranges and yellows, greens, blues. Each get their own paper holder which is labeled and stored on a bookshelf.
Regina M. Hamilton says
Your craftroom is just awesome. Love all the space. I store my dies in DVD case. I’m able to get two sets per case.
Linda Nicholson says
Congratulations on your space being featured! I’m not surprised though because of what you’ve shared online in the past. I will definitely be getting this issue.
Linda
Cindy H. says
I’m not sure the magazine can help me as I have just a corner of a large room for my crafting supplies and it’s quite crowded. It sure would be fun though to browse the magazine and live vicariously through other people’s beautiful setups. Love yours, Nichole! I keep my stamping supplies in clear drawers that are marked by theme so I can find everything, easily. Even my Copics are in small clear drawers that fit on my desk – most are one drawer per color but a few colors actually take up two drawers. My dies are in boxes containing hanging folders that are used for CDs – really love this storage solution.
Marty says
Anything from IKEA is my best storage tip. Always looking for new ideas, though, and would love to win a copy of this issue!
Gay Ferland says
I love the idea of this concept, organizing!! My tips is to label all my stamp sets with a P-touch in white so I can read the planton boxes easily. Thanks for the opportunity to win!!
Diane Hover says
I am in the process of redoing my room…its big, it was our old mater bedroom, and has a full bath off it, so handy for a quick clean up of brushes and such….one of my fun storage things are the old wide mouth milk glass vases you see at every junk sale…I keep all my watercolor pencils, scissors, bone folders etc in them…they are pretty and make me happy!! LOVE your gorgeous room, mine will never ever look as good…thanks for the chance!!
Lisa L. ( Lisa's Creative Niche) says
wow this room is gorgeous! I’m crafting out of my dinning room right now, but it works for my needs! : ) TIP: I use a little square adhesive on the top of each of my Tim Holtz Distress Pads so keep that colors blending pad with it at all times!
LaceyNB says
I line old DVD cases with a strip of magnet to attach metal dies to. It works well and I can put examples of the dies on the front cover.
Vicki says
I think it’s really important to have some kind of ribbon storage system. I like putting the original spools in a rack with dowel rods holding the spools loosely.
karenajo says
My favorite crafty thing is an acrylic fixture I bought at a store going out of business. It is about 18″ tall and 12″ deep with 12 cubby holes on each of two sides. It is on a rotating base and I use it to hold markers scissors and many of my most used items. It never hurts to check out ‘fixtures’ if you hear of someplace going out of business. I am always looking for great organizational tips – thanks for a chance to win !
Janet says
I need all the organizing tips I can get! Lack of storage space in my little loft area is a really big problem!
bridget says
You havea great craft space! Then again, I loved the one at your prior home too! Lovely!
D Golly says
I love to see how other people tackle the problem of storing their stuff. I face that every day and still face “now where do I put it so I remember to use it!” with each new addition. Your room looks amazing! I’m jealous.
Lesa W. says
I love seeing the craft rooms of other people. My craft room/office is always in need of organizing. It seems to be a catchall room most of the time so I need to get in there and get it cleaned and organized.
Lauren A. says
Love your space!!! So many good ideas! I would love this because I am constantly trying to figure out how to get organized in a way that is conducive to cleaning (I share my craft space with our bedroom LOL) and also so that my supplies are more handy and easy to see so I don’t forget what I have. I do have some square cubbie shelves that I got at Target that I love. They are good for storage and I can see everything, but I think I need more! LOL! 🙂
Lauren
Shelly Greybeck says
I just reorganized my craft room, but I already see some great ideas I can incorporate just from the sneak peaks!
Connie Fisher says
Oh, I would love to win a copy! Thanks for the chance. I loved your button storage that your husband made so much that I had my husband make one for me…thanks to your pictures with dimensions. I like clear storage so I can see what’s there (out of sight, out of mind!!) so I use stackable drawers for my ink pads, large papers, stamps and dies. I love getting inspiration from pictures of others craft rooms!

Just what I need as I move from one space in the house to another!
Gerry Smith says
I can always use more ideas for craft storage and setup. Someday I’ll actually use the ideas 🙂

April Z. says
Your craft room is amazing!! I’m not sure I have any tips that haven’t been shared before, but I was fortunate to get a free paper shelf from my neighbor. It hold all my 8.5 x 11 paper in individual cubbies and makes it so easy to ind everything!
Melissa says
Wow…This is amazing!! Would love my space to look like that! 🙂 My favorite thing is my big table! I don’t like things being to close to eachother, so I love that I can spread everything out more. That helps me to stay more organized with a project!
Judy says
Your new studio looks absolutely amazing–both aesthetically pleasing and well organized which is my dream studio. Having my most used supplies close to my work table and a designated place for everything is what has been most helpful to me in staying organized.
Geri G says
I dream of a craft space like this! Beautiful, neat & tidy – love it. My #1 tip is somewhat organizational in nature….always, always clean up at the end of the day. There is nothing worse than walking into a messy area – it just seems to drain away all the positive, creative energy 🙂
Jan Pufall says
I bought the last one. What good and simple suggestions to help you organize.
Stacy says
One of my favorite new ways to store washi tape is on a metal paper towel holder. Super cute and keeps them nicely stacked. I would love a crafting room, right now it’s in my closet and really tough to keep things organized and acessable.
Sue in Grapevine says
My favorite organization trick was to start storing my clear stamps in the Tim Holtz-type folders. I can store so many sets in a small space.
Sonia says
This is such a great idea! I have a full board on Pinterest dedicated to crafty spaces, so this will be fantastic! Your space is envy-worthy, Nichole 🙂
Sonia says
Oops! My tip is to keep my most used tools in a little rolling cart (mine is from Ikea) so I can move them along with me around my table 🙂
Erin Schulte says
Congratulations!!!! You have a dream craft room and it’s SO organized!! I can’t wait to read this magazine ?????
joann says
I’ve been wanting to organize my crafting space. I like to use clear plastic containers and I label the ends. I just need to go thru things and clean out some of the old to make room for the new.
Erin Schulte says
And my favourite tip is maintaining a pad of all my ink colours. I stamp every ink colour I have on a square of white paper and, punch a hole in a corner and hold them together with a binder clip (those round ones like a key chain?). Makes it really easy to put colour combinations together. I got this nifty tip when taking the Holiday Card Class from Online Card Classes.
betty lou says
Love your neat, clean, craft room! Beautiful! Mine is small, and, well, pretty messy!! I love using jars and vases of all shapes and sizes to contain my buttons, ribbons, etc.! Love to see the colors!
Kim says
is this magazine waterproof for when I drool over it?
Elizabeth S. says
Nichole, I am so in awe of your craft room. Congrats on being featured in this magazine. I craft in my dining room now so I just try and keep mt supplies in cabinets and drawers. I do have space I would like to turn into a workable craft room. Seeing others ideas as to what works for them will help in making that possible.
karenb says
I love your crafting space. Very nice. 🙂 My storage tip is to keep things visible, either just where you can see the items or in clear storage solutions. Then I actually use what I can see. 🙂
Becky S says
Love my mason jars, old and new, for buttons and ribbon.
Marlene O says
I am just in the planning stages of moving my craft room to a larger room and would love to receive a copy of “Creative Spaces”.
Jeni says
Love the photos of your space. I would love to be able to have this much room. My best tip is to save up the money & invest in the storage system you really want instead of trying to settle. I didn’t want to spend the money on trays for my 12×12 paper. I tried several other ways to organize them & spent way more money in the long run. I eneded up breaking down & getting the trays. Love them!
Tricia says
Clear storage is so helpful for those of us who need to see what we have before we start a project!
Greta H says
Your studio is wonderful! I’ve never had a space that organized & clean–wow! I keep experimenting with how to set up my stuff & currently I’m really liking separating my wood mounted stamps by company in Snapware Snap ‘N Stack plastic portable trays. For my cling & clear stamps I’m using 3 ring binders which works pretty well. Thanks for a chance to win this issue & congrats on being in it!
Tammie Koehnen says
Ooh I love your studio! Beautiful. My favorite storage tip is storing my go to tools such as scissors, paper piercer, rulers, and PTI border dies, in my Pampered Chef spinning utencil/tool caddy. I keep it on my working table so it’s always handy. Thank you for this awesome chance to win this magazine. 🙂
Barbra says
I bought these fabulous white CD boxes at IKEA that I store all my Papertrey Ink Stamps in. They even have a place to put a tab so you know what each box holds.

I think a craft space is always evolving, so love my 2 Expedit bookcases and baskets. Having a spot to leave out my Big Shot is an absolute must and keeing most used items within arms reach. I love looking at creative spaces and taking ideas that will work for me.
kelly says
wow…your space looks fabulous and the creative spaces issues are some of my favourites.

Thanks for the chance to win a copy of Creative Spaces! Your room is a crafter’s dream, Nichole. Am in the process of converting my PTI stamp sets to TH folders to make it easier than breaking CD cases and also take less storage space ~ love it so far. I need all the help I can get in reorganizing my stamping room.

For the recycler, I acquired a discarded wood computer desk, attached matching wood pieces to each side to give it height, added wheels and have a grand stamping station in the middle of my craft room! Small $1 store black crates fit on the shelf under neath, holding inks, stains, smooches, sprays, everything needed for stamping. And two black metal rolling shelve carts from Target fit underneath on either side, hold embossing folders, sponges, alphabet dies, adhesives, and all the basic tools at my fingertips!
Sheila says
Always great to get ideas for craft storage. I’m always changing as my stash seems to keep changing. One of my favorite things I’ve done so far is to put my ribbon on pieces of mat board cut to fit in a drawer divider (4 of these fit in one of the 3-drawer Sterlite containers). I’ve wound the ribbon on the mat board pieces and have the end secured with the smallest size binder clip I could find. All the ribbons are arranged by color. It looks so pretty opening a drawer now and easy to take out and see what works best for my project.

Peg board–with dowels for ribbon and sissors, etc.
But ask my kids. I need a lot more than that to get organized.

How exciting! One of my favorite organizing tip is to organize your items by how YOU scrap. That way the creativity always flows!
Dana N says
I recently used PTI’s rolodex idea to organize my ink blending foams! I die-cut the desktop file cards from white and then inked them with the ink color that I would be associating it with. Then I added a bit of velcro and voila! Instant foam organization! Makes finding what I want a breeze!
kirsty vittetoe says
My craft room can only be neat for one day, once I start a project, it is back to square one, I definitely need to take a peek at this wonderful magazine!
Amanda says
Thanks for a chance to win. My favorite tip is pretty simple – make sure everything has a place. You will never “find a spot eventually” or “get to it later.” Another is organize to your strengths and outlooks. It doesn’t matter how great a system is if it goes against what is natural for you. You just fighting a losing battle.
Laurie says
thanks for the opportunity! I always love these organizational mags. Sometimes the organizing of my “studio” is the best part of crafting!

Love your crafty space! I think we’d all like to be a bit more organized. One way I stay organized is by coordinating my printed paper packs. I have them divided into themes; i.e. Holidays, Neutrals, Feminine, Baby, etc. It eliminates having to go through stacks of packs to find what I want. Thanks so much for the opportunity to grab a free copy!
Allison L says
I love seeing various ways to organize my supplies. With limited space in my craft room, my latest addition was a CD cabinet. There is shelving inside which is the perfect width for all my stamps, inks, cuttlebug, dies…and on the doors the shelving holds little baskets (purchased from a dollar store) filled with embossing powders, ribbons, daubers, glitter, adhesives etc. once closed, it’s an attractive piece of furniture hiding all my treasures!
Amy r says
I like to keep my stamps in binders by company.

I think I could move into your studio and be happy forever! I especially love your CD storage case. Simply beautiful! And the sink is genius. I just started using the tapeonline DVD cases with the adhesive magnetic sheets for my dies. They are super strong, and now everything can be stored together! They even fit with two sheets and dies face to face!
jeannine says
well, i don’t have a craft room/space. i make my cards on the kitchen table & make quite a few trips upstairs to get supplies that i forgot to bring down. however, i do keep a photo box w/ my most frequently used supplies in, so i have them handy. thanks.

We are in the process of building a new home and I am so excited that it includes an art studio for me! i am hoping my new space will be pretty and functional! I love looking at others’ spaces – yours looks beautiful Nichole! One thing that has worked for me is to keep all my loose embellishments (buttons, beads, brads etc.) in clear top spice containers with magnets on the bottom. They hang on a magnet board right behind my desk – always in sight but not taking up counter space.
Patty says
I like to keep my wooden stamps organized by category into clear boxes with clear labels for each container. I also like storing all my acrylic sets in cd sleeves and it’s easy to flip through quickly. Thanks for a chance to win.

I’d love to win Creative Spaces. I really need some inspiration for organizing my craft room. Thanks for the opportunity! Favorite crafty tip…hmmmm. I tend to alphabetize things such as embossing folders, Cricut cartridges, etc. I keep an alphabetized spreadsheet of those with me when I shop so I don’t accidentally purchase duplicates.

Organization is KEY to any craft especially when needing paper, stamps, inks and acrylic blocks readily accessible yet out of the way. I find baskets to be useful, pretty and easy to organize and store. They keep things separate, hidden but open and accessible. LOVE my basket system! One for cards and envelopes, one for stamps and another for the inks and blocks. So useful!

Love your space. I wish I had a room for all my scrapbook materials, I am currently using our loft area, which is nice because I can keep an eye on everything in the lower floor, but a door that closes where I can get lost in my creating….would be great! Thanks for sharing!

Congrats on featuring in this awesome mag – can’t wait to see more.
I’m certainly not posting pics of my craft space – it’s a huge mess – my storage options can’t seem to keep up with the new crafty stuff I keep buying! I’m very much about using whatever you can find around the house for storage – my storage includes lots of shoe boxes & jam jars!

I don’t have any good tips. I need this magazine to help me with my room!
Kelly Griglione says
My favorite tip is to store ribbon vertically on a wire hanger. Unbend the hanger (except the top hook part) and slide the spools of ribbon on. Then bend the bottom 2 inches at a 90 degree angle to keep the ribbon spools from sliding off. In fact, this was the topic of one of my first blog articles. You can see it (along with pictures) here: http://notablenest.blogspot.com/2012/01/ribbon-storage.html

I wish I had an organizational tip. It seems I’m always re-doing my space to make it more organized and functional. I guess that is my tip. Keep your space ever evolving so that it is organized and functional for you at that time. It will keep you much more productive. Thanks for the opportunity.

Looking forward to this! Having gotten to experience your workspace in person – I know it is amazing! Currently, I have a very small space, so in order to keep it looking organized, I have organized everything into white photo boxes, and labeled their contents. Felt, Buttons, Glitter, Bling, and so on. I made die storage that I’m quite happy with, and I still have room to expand, even after acquiring MANY PTI dies, ha ha ha. Here’s a blog post where I feature my die storage. http://www.tmcuccia.blogspot.com/2011/02/getting-organized.html

I’m an organizational nut, can’t wait to see how everyone organizes. One of my favorite things, is using a small binder and sheet protectors, inserting magnet sheets cut to size and place dies on them. That way all my dies are in one binder, portable and easy access at home. 🙂

I love to have all my ribbon scraps in a big clear glass jar on my desk so that when I’m creating I can see at a glance if some scrap will work for my project or not. It adds some fun color to the workspace, and can serve as inspiration depending on which scraps end up next to each other!

Connie Smith says
How exciting Nichole! It doesn’t surprise me at all that you were asked! You space is so calm and inviting. What a great space to create in. I think my favorite storage/organizing tip has to do with any cabinets you may have in your craft space. I was very fortunate that when my son moved out I was able to claim his room for my craft room. I’ve always wanted cabinets in my room so after many months I got 1/2 of them for free & the other half I only paid $100. So tip #1 is patience to find the storage you want/need for your space. I spent way too much money in the past on all kinds of impulse buys for different boxes, totes, bins, etc thinking this is it, this will work & it never did. Or if it did, it never last long. Tip #2 is installing pull out drawers. It was the best thing I ever begged my husband to do for me, lol. So much of your cabinet goes to waste because you can’t see all the way to the back. You put stuff in and forget what you put in there and end up buying duplicates because you couldn’t see what was in the back, etc. Or you really have more storage room than you think because you shove stuff way in the back and then never use it and so it sits and sits and takes up valuable space that could be used for product you actually use. I think you know where I’m going with that. So, we tore out the existing shelves & my amazing hubby built real simple pull out drawers using 1/2″ plywood for the bottom and 1×4/1×6/1×8 for the sides. The content is what would dictate the dimensions. (You can buy pull out drawers at many home improvement stores if you can’t build them or don’t have a handy man around) Half the drawers had different height sides so for most of them I didn’t have to buy more storage pieces to put inside the drawers. Drawer dimensions depended on their purpose. For example the cabinet for my 6×6 & 8×8 pads had 6″ sides. Then the cabinet for all of my different size punches we only had to have 3″ sides. The cabinets and your ribbon storage you shared Nichole, all have helped my storage situation so much. I can’t wait to to pick up this magazine. I know it will be filled with brilliant ideas that I will want to try. I’m pretty sure my DH will be MIA for quite awhile once I bring that issue home though!!
Stacy says
My favorite tip is simple – label everything so you can find it later.
