5th Anniversary Day 5: New Papertrey Pinterest Boards & Stamp-a-faire 2012

February 9, 2012      Nichole Heady      1,017 Comments

Welcome back to Day 5 of our 5th Anniversary festivities!  I'm so glad to hear about your excitement and the fun you are having with all of the challenges!  First, let me share today's sneak peeks of some of the products that are coming up this release!

Sneak-Peek-12
We have a huge new line of dies rolling out this month that allow you to create amazing interactive cards!  This sentiment set is full of arrows and other phrases specifically designed to coordinate with these interactive features.  However, it is versatile enough to have other applications as well.

Sneak-Peek-13
This last set was actually cut from the sentiment set I peeked above.  There were so many great pairings for the word "You", I created an entire separate set that can coordinate with the new interactive dies as well as have other uses for other types of projects.

And now what you have all been waiting for, today's announcements and contest!  We are thrilled to announce that Papertrey Ink has now created and entire series of Pinterest boards to serve as a fantastic one stop shop for all your inspiration needs!

PTI-&-Pinterest

For those of you who may not be familiar with Pinterest, it is an amazing inspiration resource that can be applied to nearly any aspect of you life, especially paper crafting.  It is an organizational tool for links to things that are important to you.

Pinterest-pti-page
Our Pinterest boards are a series of boards divided into project categories that can serve as an easy reference for you when you are looking for inspiration for a specific type of project

Birthday-cards
So, if you are struggling to create a birthday card, you can stop by our Birthday Board and browse through the dozens and dozens of birthday creations that the team has designed.  Each photo is directly linked to the original blog post that it was showcased on.  There are boards for our Make It Monday video, scrapbook layouts, each of the major holidays and much, much more!

We just started the process of filling all of the boards, so there is still more to come.  We hope that you will find this resource very valuable during your creative time!  In honor of the new inspiration boards we have set up for you, we asked our team to find an inspirational Pinterest image and use it as a jumping point for a project.  You will love seeing how they used their inspiration as well as the amazing artwork they created.

Stamp-a-faire-2012-logo
Many of you may remember our Stamp-a-faire event that we held in Cincinnati last year.  It was truly an unforgettable event that holds a special place in the hearts of both the attendees and hosts.  After discussing the details of what to do for an event this year, we have opted to turn Stamp-a-faire into an online event so that EVERYONE can participate!

Stamp-a-faire-photos
Mark your calendars for Saturday, July 21st, 2012 because you will definitely want to set this aside as a day for yourself to indulge in your favorite hobby!  More details about this online event will be made available as the date grows a bit nearer, but here is a brief run-down of what you can look forward to at Stamp-a-faire 2012!

  • A world-wide online event bringing Papertrey fans from around the globe together.
  • An exclusive tote bag full of Papertrey goodies, class kit supplies and more with online registration!
  • Limited Edition Stamp-a-faire stamp set included!
  • Videos, challenges, contests, tutorials & inspiration posted throughout the day by the Papertrey Team.
  • Enjoy festivities from the comfort of your own home or plan to meet with other Papertrey fans in your local area to participate together.
  • Stamp-a-faire t-shirts will be available for purchase at the Cafe Press store in advance for you to wear the day of the event to help unify all participants, no matter where in the world you are!  We'll have a special InLinkz list set up to see everyone around the world in their Stamp-a-fair gear!
  • Share photos and live videos of your projects and silly moments from your individual gatherings in a fun central location.
  • and much, much more!

This will prove to be a very fun event for everyone, no matter where they are.  We love the idea of being able to allow anyone to participate, no limits.  And there will be no overhead travel expenses for anyone to invest.  The day will be all about our mutual love of this hobby!  More details to come soon and we hope to see you there!

Day-5-Contest

So – I have the article on Pinterest from this week’s Sunday paper torn out and sitting on my coffee table waiting for me to read it. Besides all of the papercrafting blogs talking about Pinterest, my quilting buddies have started talking about it. Guess it’s time I take the plunge. It will be nice to have all of the different PTI Boards to look at. Thanks so much for putting those together.

The new Stamp-A-Faire format sounds fun – although I’m sorry to hear we won’t have the chance to craft in-person with the PTI crew. This is a much better way for more people to participate (in an affordable way.)

What a wonderful inspirational tool. I am new to pinterest but having all those cards in one place will make finding a card to spark my creativity so much easier. Card making has taken such great strides since I started card making in 1991. The resources available as well as supplies online make card making a joy. TFS Ann Lind

Marking my calendar for my husband to be off July 21st so he can watch the kids that day. And order pizza. No mommy responsibilities that day – well, we can all dream right? As for Pinterest, I’ve just sort of been a lurker. But, I’m super excited for PTI boards!! I recently have been trying to decide what to use some Christmas money on (yeah, don’t think that will be a problem now with this release) and was trying to look at some older stamp sets, and was having a hard-ish time on the gallery. This will be so much easier PLUS I can share it easier. Now, if the IRS would just accept stamp purchases as a tax write off…

The pinterest boards are amazing. SO useful. I’m very excited about them. And I love seeing how the designers can turn such “random” things into inspiration. I loved the idea of actually going somewhere for a stamp-a-faire but knew I probably would never actually be able to attend…it’s hard to leave babies at home. So I’m looking forward to being able to participate online. Thanks!

This is one of the best anniversary announcements ever! I ADORE Pinterest and I am so looking forward to following Papertrey! Over the years, I’ve save so many inspirational photos yet I use so few because they are so hard to search. I’m thrilled that pinning makes it so easy! And I’m super stoked about Stamp-a-faire! I was so sad that I couldn’t participate last year and now I can! Yeah! And I love interactive cards so I am tickled pink about the new dies! I hope the time until the 15th goes by quickly!!

Oh no – I think PTI will push me over the Pinterest edge. I’ve resisted this site for so long because I’m afraid I will never leave my computer. I just tell myself that I already get plenty of inspiration from the few crafty blogs I read. Then I read Erin’s blog today and saw her “fun things for kids” board, and it may now be time to face my fear. The thought of so much PTI goodness in one spot is quite alluring.
As for the Stamp A Faire announcement, I’m so excited it will be online. I’ve marked my calendar for the big event – thank you for making this decision, and thank you for so much fun this week.

I am very excited about the new Pinterest inspiration boards! I find that I do so much more creating when I have solid inspiration to work off of. At the end of a chaotic work week, I don’t have much mental juice left for fresh, new ideas. I want to get inky and create something so it works perfectly for me to take some saved inspiration and turn it into a quick project. I haven’t used Pinterest much, but I have a new reason to dive into it headfirst! I currently have an iPad full of bookmarked links and pictures that I use for inspiration. Thank God for the advances of technology!

I am overwhelmed with all of the great STUFF this month! Pinterist is a Fabulous Idea – I am constantly searching blog after blog for ideas and this will speed that search significantly!!! annnnd my breath CAUGHT at the Stamp-A-Faire announcement! Can’t WAIT! I attended last year and it was so much fun …except that the airline sent my luggage on another (later) plane, and I didn’t have any supplies until so late in the afternoon it was a moot point! Luckily my table of (new) friends ALL pitched in and helped me out! I was absolutely THRILLED to meet Nichole and all the Design Team members that attended!

    First…
    so excited about the sneaks…
the little taste the other day has me rushing days so I can see more! 🙂
    Second…
    Pinterest…
    addicted!
And I’m so excited about Stamp A Faire!
I admit some disappointment over not having a central place for it…
I don’t have crafty friends close by and was hoping to meet so many of my online friends…
but I’m also excited that it’s online in case something happens last minute and I wouldn’t be able to attend…
    so I’m good either way!
    And somehow…
    someway…
going to still try and meet some of these crafty friends!
    Either here…or I’ll travel! 🙂
    It’s all good!
Now just waiting for more details! 😉

All anniversary announcements have been great so far, but today’s announcements one of my favorites!!! I love Pinterest, and I have many PTI projects in my board already. Now, I’m happy I will not lose any of the amazing cards the DT prepare. Congratulations on this great idea.

Last year I read a lot about the Stamp-a-Fair and how awesome the experience was to all attendees. Opening this opportunity world-wide is extraordinary. I already marked my calendar, and will make plans “to attend”. Thanks for thinking in all of us who wish to go, but were not able to afford the time or expenses involved.
