The miracle of life is my most favorite thing about babies. A newborn makes you realize the absolute miracle that a child is – the sweet smell, the tiny fingers and nails, the soft fluttery lashes – a child is a miracle, what can be better than that?
The smell of a newborn…their teeny tiny everything! From their nose to their tose…even those itty bitty diapers just make me crazy!! THere’s nothing in the world like holding a brand new life in your arms. What a way to restore your faith in the universe!
I would have to say the peaceful look on their face when they are a sleep. They have no cares, no worries…
What’s not to love about new babies? But I think my favorite part is the smell of new baby. So sweet and fresh! I am looking forward to meeting my new baby in 18 days!!!

I love to have a baby wrap his/her tiny hand around my finger. It always makes me think that the baby is saying, “I need you to be a part of my life!”
I love the tops of their little heads and the way the hair swirls around.
I like it when they look like they’re smiling – everyone says “it’s gas”, but it still looks sweet.
It’s hard to choose just one favorite thing about new babies, but I have to pick just the feeling of that warm soft little bundle tucked in my arm with his/her head on my chest. I really miss that more than anything else.
My favorite thing is how they move their little mouths when they sleep. Like they are dreaming about nursing. No more babies for DH and me (we have 7) and I miss them already.
In April I will be having my first baby and I can’t wait to hold her!

Whenever I look at them, I think to myself “where is their battery pack?” I can’t believe that they’re breathing on their own. Silly, but true.

I love those sweet little baby feet. I still like to tell my little guy how I fell in love with those little feet of his before he was born — when I saw them on the ultrasound picture.
The best thing about new babies is that little divot at the back of their heads right where the neck starts…it is the best place to snuggle and kiss – you get the new baby smell,and you see how fragile and strong babies are at the same time. Plus, it is impossible not to smile and feel happy when you see them. A new beginning…

LIttle miracles, who give you unconditional love. One of the best things about babies is when they are first learning to smile, and everytime you walk into the room and you meet eyes., their smile brightens up, and its as though you walking through the room was the best thing that has ever happened to them.
I love it when babies first open their eyes after waking up from sleeping…so adorable! Just takes my breath away and I can’t wait to have all those moments with my own babies!

I love the shape of their little lips – like little rose petals. The softness of their skin and the sweet smell when they cuddle under your chin. Above all, I love their innocence and their trust that our world will be kind to them.
The new baby smell, there is nothing like it. Also, how soft and chubby there skin is. How bright their eyes are and how cute their little toes are. I better stop now, my kids are grown but I don’t have any grandbabies yet. I miss the sweet baby stage.

I love everything about babies! Their soft skin, sweet smell, their toothless smiles … My babies are not school-aged, and I’m starting to miss their infant days. Oh my Oh my!!!! I love that very first cry you hear when they are born. It’s sooooooo many feelings all in one. Relief, Happiness, Joy, and the thought of giving life is just soooo amazing. No one can ever take that memory away from a mother. I have four children and remember each cry like it was yesterday. (tears)
The smell, definitely, and how burrow their little heads into your neck. It was always hard to lay mine down in the crib once they went to sleep, they were such angels….when they were sleeping 🙂

Well, I just had a baby 2 months ago so it’s LIVE for me… I love seeing the ever so slight change sin her everyday, like how her eye lases are growing longer, how her skin is smoothing out, how her eye sight have improved everyday and can now track your face, and how they are always so warm and cuddly. most of all, i love that she is cooing and smiling! those first smiles makes my heart melt to pieces! my favorite physical attribute are her chubby yummy thighs with the rolls upon rolls of FAT, haha!

I love EVERYTHING about babies! Their sweet smell, their adorable yawns, the way their legs still pull up into a ball like they are still in the womb, how soft their skin is, and the way they can hold onto your finger so tightly. They grow up too fast!
For me it’s their facial expressions while they sleep!
The pure innocence of a babies trusting eyes as they look at life for the first time. The little dribble of milk that comes out the side of their mouth when they smile up at you during nursing. The smell of a baby right after a bath. The pure essence of innocence and trust.
Another fan of the sweet, close snuggle a baby gives you. Since my baby is now 26–and no grandchildren in sight–it’s been a while.
I love how babies like to be held close to you and the tiny breaths they take. They are so precious and they grow up way too fast!!
oh, how can i pick just one favorite thing? i’m sitting here typing this (one handed) with my new baby boy asleep in my arms and i love everything about him! so sweet. in general though, i would say there is something special about little tiny baby feet. =)

My favorite thing about babies is when you are snuggling with them and they just melt into you. I have such great memories of some of those middle of the night feedings when we would fall asleep and snuggle so close, like a lock and key. So yummy! My 5 month old is on my lap as I type this and I look forward to tonight’s yum-fest with him!

I adore babies–their little fingers and toes, the way they smell after a bath, the way they look when they sleep, the way they fit in your arms. Now that my babies are 15, 12, and 7 I’m lucky enough to work at a preschool that has an infant room. Our babies can start as young as 3 months and it’s such a joy to watch them grow.
All of the above! I love their smell, I love how their little arms and legs flail around, I love the funny faces that they make when they sleep, I love the funny sounds they make when they discover their voice, and I especially love how they snuggle up in the crook of your neck and conk out with a little bit of patting and rocking. Boy, do I wish I could sleep like that! Soon I’ll get to enjoy all of these amazing things when my new grandson is born in May. So happy to see so many wonderful sets to celebrate babies!
Babies are precious. I remember each one of my two sons’ births. I remember when I saw their faces how my heart felt like it was about to explode out of my chest…a feeling that I’ve never experienced before…just pure, unconditional love. Babies are miracles.

My favorite thing about babies are when they wrap their tiny little hand around your finger. It’s amazing how tightly they can grip when they look so very fragile. And I cannot resist snuggling up to their little cheeks!

my favorite about new babies had to be when I had my son he was in the NIC unit.. and I got to learn how to do Kangeroo care… It was the best… being able to be skin to skin and smelling the new baby smell.. and that fact that he knew that I was his mom… their is just something about a baby that calms and soothes you… Denise

My favourite thing about my newest new baby, was “Kangaroo Care” – Luca was born premmie, and was in hospital for a number of weeks before we could bring him home. Each day at the hospital, he would be taken from the humidy crib, and put naked inside my top, against my skin. I could only hold him for an hour each day, and for this hour, he would sleep against my chest – curled up so small (tiny even!). It was my favourite hour of every day – and helped him grow big and strong to thankfully come home with us.
I love the way they mold to you when you hold them and the way they smell… I can’t be near a baby without having an urge to hold him/her.

Babies… there is so much to love! My favorite part about my babies was how they loved to snuggle in closely to you and just sleep. I could feel their soft skin, smell that wonderful baby smell and count all those little toes. As my babies grew, my favorite part was their thighs… so chubby and squeezable!
I love soo much about babies. Mine is 6 wks and he’s been so good! I’m lucky so far 🙂 What I love most is the peaceful resting when they are against you sleeping. The little purrs they do. Also, I love when they start making eye contact with you.

Besides their incredible smell, their tiny fingers that just wrap so well around mine, the teensy clothes, and their skinny, skinny legs, my favorite thing about brand new babies is most definitely the special spirit they carry with them. How can you look at a brand new baby and not be in awe of the miracle in front of you? My fourth ‘baby’ is now 9 months old, but it seems like just yesterday she was given to me fresh from the presence of a loving Heavenly Father.
My favorite thing about new babies….everything!! My baby, well he’s not quite a baby any more, is going to be one this Sunday. Perhaps my most favorite thing I love and will miss is his chubby, chubby thighs. They are just absolutely the cutest thing to me. I can always make him laugh as I say, “I’m going to eat you….I’m going to eat you”, as I kiss-kiss his yummy thighs. My thought right now, as I look at him is … he will never be this tiny again. I certainly get teary-eyed.

Oh my….it’s all so fresh to me. It happened an amazingly short 6 months ago. What I love: the way they curl up like a tree frog when you pick them up, “the smell”, baby feet, baby arms, the little newborn grunts they make while eating, the first gummy smile(I’m melting….), their warmth and snuggliness, their sweet soft wobbly heads that are so perfect for kissing, tiny fingernails, baby eyelids, the way they KNOW their mommies the second they meet, the way I’ll never be the same…all over again.

I loved the projects and peeks this week… You’ve done it again!
I had always been sort of afraid of holding newborn babies (They’re always so tiny and delicate!) until I gave birth this past November 3rd. Maybe I would have been nervous about holding her if I hadn’t been in labor for almost 24 hours before we had to have an emergency C-Section, but after being in labor without drugs for most of that time, wild dogs couldn’t have held me back!!
Even on no sleep, starving, and still really numb from the epidural – I held my daughter as soon as I got to the room from surgery. Nothing will replace all of those feelings, but one of my *absolute* favorite things is to smell her breath. When she was really new, the top of her head smelled differently but now with so many baths it smells like baby soap.
I still nearly shove my nose in her mouth when she yawns near me… I love it and it’s something that my husband just doesn’t understand.
Although, a really, really close second is her little toes. I love to kiss them!!

My sister just had a baby 5 weeks ago so I can totally answer this question. The warmth of a new little baby in my arms (especially a sleeping baby 😉 And my 2nd favorite thing is baby’s toes. The first time I held my sister’s baby (Kellan) I asked if I could unwrap him and look at his toes. They are so cute and precious! Thanks for making my smile with this question.

I just loved watching my babies. They are so expressive, so involuntary, so squeaky. The range of sounds they make is astonishing. My sis sent me video clip of my newborn nephew recently, and I could watch the short loop for hours!

My favorite things about babies is from their head to their toes. My youngest baby is 35 years old and my oldest is 42, but I still remember and cherish the first moment I laid eyes on them and held them in my arms.

their feet. i never realized it till i had my own but i LOVE baby feet. that’s the only thing i could see while they were cleaning my daughter up and everybody kept walking in front of me. i finally started yelling at anyone who would get in the way.
My favorite thing about MY baby was the day she was born- that OVERWHELMING sense of unconditional love- more than I even knew was possible!!! And OF COURSE all the yumminess that follows, the soft, soft skin, sweet little noises, and Ohhh the cuddling! They are babies for far too short a time!!

I love to hold babies and have them snuggle up against you. They are so tiny and smell so good. They remind you of all the joyful and wonderful things in life. Whenever I see a baby the first thing I want to hold and cuddle them. Great release Nicole and Papertrey team.

I gotta admit, the thing I love about babies is their teeny fingers and toes. I took a ton of pictures of dd’s hands and feet when she was a baby…so cute!
Without a doubt the most precious thing about a newborn baby for me, is the short sighted, fuzzy confused look they have as they try and take something of the brand-new world in, that surrounds them. Suddenly they can see things, hear things and feel things that only a short while ago were muffled and foreign! And yet, as a mum, when you speak to them they know it’s YOU. It’s a miracle!
That they don’t live at my house! Seriously – how sweet and innocent they are.
There are so many things I love about babies…their cute little feet, their baby smell, their sweet smile. But the one thing that continually amazes me is the look of unconditional love and trust on my children’s faces when we first met. I have four wonderful girls and I remember the first time I first made eye contact with each of them. Priceless!

OMG, everything! The way they smell, and the little sounds they make, but I guess what I love most (and miss about my own) was the way they nuzzle into your chest as newborns and curl up into a tight little ball… sigh. I really can’t have a 4th baby, but sometimes I just WANT to! LOL

What is not to love? I love when a baby falls asleep on your chest… I still remember when my son would fall asleep on my chest and he would just melt into my body. I will never forget that feeling.
It would be impossibly to pick just one thing. I love all the little sounds of contentment they make when they nurse or when they are just happy to be with mom. I loved sleeping with my babies in the crook of my arm at night. I love their beautiful baby smell, and their fist sweet smiles. I love how they hold on for dear life when they grasp your fingers. I love to watch them sleep, yawn, stretch. Babies are just very special, the best gift in the world.

what a great question! I love they way you catch their eye and they just stay with you. I wasn’t able to have my own but have three fabulous stepchildren. I’ve known the youngest since she was a tiny baby (long story but no, I didn’t break anyone up) and it’s been amazing. They are an amazing gift from God!

After having three of my own, I still marvel at the miracle of birth. I adore all their sweet little parts. I can still remember holding my first born, watching her sleep in my arms after an early morning feeding thinking, “I hope I can always remember what this moment feels like…” and sat with her for a long while trying to soak it all in.

Awww…new babies, what’s not to love?!? With all 3 of mine (including my 6 week old) I went without sleep the first few days just to stare at them. Such a miracle! I love that new baby smell(who doesn’t?) I also loved the way my babies would curl up on my chest and just sleep for hours. The way their little heartbeat felt against me was an amazing feeling. I miss that, now that mine are much older.
What I love about babies is that they are totally dependent on you and that when you hold them they just let you cuddle them and love them without squirming to get away. What a precious time.

I’m holding my sweet baby as I type and there is nothing sweeter than cuddling with your little bundle of joy!
There is nothing more peaceful than sitting on a rocking chair in the middle of the night rocking your baby, having him/her sleeping on your chest with his/her head tucked just under your chin so you can lightly rest your chin on his head and breathe in his/her newborn smell. Although my baby is 38 yrs old now I can still feel that feeling deep inside myself.

Well, since I had not one, but two babies with reflux and colic…sleeping was treasured. I loved it, however, when my two were around 6 months and started to really explore the world. It was a delight to “see” the world through innocent eyes for a time.
A tiny baby smile melts me instantly, especially the gummy ones.

Babies are such a sweet blessing and a miracle. As I get older, I realize how much. My favorite thing is trying to grasp the miracle of life and seeing what the baby looks like after being in their mom’s belly.
I love their perfectly smooth skin and the absolute trust in their eyes when they look at you.
For the majority of my life I didn’t want children and it wasn’t until I was well into my 20’s that I was bitten by the baby bug. A co-worker came to visit with her new baby and when I held her and looked down at her sweet face I knew I had to have one. It was the innocence in her face and the trust in her eyes that got to me. I have never forgotten that feeling and doubt I ever will. My babies have changed my life in ways I never imagined.

I’m a sucker for the sweet smell and tiny little hands and feet. When they grab on tight to your finger with their whole little hand it always melts my heart.
Both of my little ones would LAUGH in their sleep when they were only a few weeks old. Not just a smile, but full on laughter. A really great, wonderful laugh and it only happened when they were sleeping. I would be holding a tiny sleeping baby and all of a sudden a great big happy bout of smiling laughter would escape them and they would keep right on sleeping. They outgrew it by three or four months of age but it was such wonderful, magical, pure laughter. Such peacefulness and happiness.
One of my favorite things has got to be their smell. I love it after you hold a baby and then your clothes still have their scent. I just love babies! They are so fun!

Okay I just had my second baby about 9 weeks ago so I LOVE EVERYTHING about them! With my first I was so overwhelmed but I am loving the baby stage so much this time around. It’s so hard to pick one thing. It would be either the cute little chubby rolls they get or when they start cooing at you and smiling or probably my favorite is when I feed him in the morning and he cuddles up with me and he falls back asleep! 🙂

Oh My – this is a tuff question! When my children were babies, I would rock them for hours in my favorite rocking chair and would marvel at the fact that they are our future! My favorite thing about babies is when they arch their sweet little backs and pooch their little bottoms out when they have their head on your shoulder. That is probably an unorthodox answer, but I just melted when my daughter did that. It was like she was trying so hard to snuggle and get as close as she could. Now that she’s 11, she’s trying to pull away and I miss those sweet snuggles.
Having been blessed with my first grandbaby 18 months ago, I have loved every moment of holding and hugging him, then after leaving, continuing to smell him on my clothes…ahhh! The best fragrance there is for this Grandma!!
