I am super excited about today's post because I am able to show you all the amazing things we are doing with our new Click Simple library. So many fun things, it has been difficult to contain myself for the last few weeks!
The Click Simple library will be a new area of our website dedicated to a variety of digital template downloads. Current plans include…
- New Click Simple packaging templates, featuring concepts from a variety of designers.
- Shape templates contributed by Kim Hughes as well as other designers.
- The inclusion of the original My Timeless Templates.
One of the things we have been working on behind the scenes is the new formats that the templates will be available in, making them easier than ever to use. It is our goal to have each template available for sale in three different formats. To explain even further, each template will have THREE different buy buttons, one for each type of format. Since there are so many elements & pieces to each template, we felt it would be easiest to give people JUST what they would use rather than several versions in one download which could tend to confuse a lot of customers. So you would just need to decide which format is right for you and what kinds of tools & resources you prefer to utilize when paper crafting.
Our existing, popular printed format, which allows you to continue to print them from your home computer directly onto your cardstock. These downloads will include all of the printable templates as well as our popular, in depth design idea download for inspiration.
SVG format, which works well with the popular Cricut digital cutter as long as you are also outfitted with the necessary Sure Cuts A Lot software. This brings a whole new spin to the templates, allowing you to skip the hand-cutting and go straight to the assembly! Purchasing this package will give you all of the template files in SVG format along with our popular, in depth design idea download for inspiration.
GSD format, which is compatible with the popular Silhouette digital cutter (or any other digital cutter that utilizes RoboCraft software). This too allows you to skip the
hand-cutting and go straight to the assembly! Purchasing this package will
give you all of the template files in GSD format along with our
popular, in depth design idea download for inspiration.
A few notes about the Click Simple library and this month's release…
*Unfortunately, we still have a few bugs to work out with both the SVG & GSD formats for the templates (and we want to make sure everything is running perfectly before making them available for sale). Therefore, the two new templates being introduced this month will be available on release night in the IN PRINT format only.
*The GSD and SVG formats should be ready before the next release in January and will be added to the store as soon as possible. We will make an official announcement here on the blog as well as keep you informed via our newsletter when everything is ready.
*It is important to note that each file type is a separate purchase. So if you know that you want to purchase these templates in either the SVG or GSD format, do not purchase the IN PRINT format on release night. You will want to wait and buy the digital cutter versions at a later date so you do not have to pay twice.
*After everything involving these new file types has been fine tuned, we will gradually be making the Timeless Templates available in both the digital cutter file types. Each month during release week we will keep you up to date and announce which of the Timeless Templates are newly reformatted.
We will be going into greater detail about all the tech talk involved with the new digital cutter formats in the course of the next few months, including tutorials complete with screen shots and what not. This is going to be an amazing journey, opening up an entire new world of paper crafting to everyone! Thank you for allowing us to share our excitement!
This sounds so amazing. I just purchased a Silhouette and can’t wait to try these new templates out. Will we be able to sell the cards we make from these new templates like we can with your stamps? Just curious 🙂
I love sure cuts a lot. One of the things I don’t do well is cut out perfectly. The svg format will solve that problem. To get the stitching marks, will we need to buy both the print and svg? How will that work? Can’t wait to see how it turns out.
I love how this company continues to grow and change, bringing more and more possibilities to us. Digital PTI and cutting options…beyond my wildest dreams! Thank you, Nichole and PTI-team. You all ROCK!
Thank goodness u are offering stuff in svg. i haven’t purchased any of the templates simply bc I didn’t want to cut anything by hand. That and the fact i had to justify why the heck i spent so much $$ on a personal cutter 🙂
I love the new offerings! it is going to be so awesome!
Oooh! I am so excited! I’m getting a Cricut for Christmas and am over the moon excited about these new offerings from PTI!
This news is AWESOME!!! I am SO excited…the ability to have the templates in sgv format is FANTASTIC…all the size variations are then at our own fingertips!!! Can’t WAIT for this!!! Brilliant work PTI team!!!!
Oh wow, the templates look AWESOME!! How fun will that be to have different shaped cards?! Love the samples and the thorough explanation!
This kind of announcement makes me feel like I’m living under a shell as I only recently found out you could use your own templates with the cricut. Needless to say I still use the old fashioned craft knife and plastic template!
Can the templates be used with the Pazzles also?
This might be the incentive to invest in a Cricut. I keep hoping the Silhouette will become Mac friendly, but it doesn’t seem to be happening.
I think this is an awesome idea. Hope to see you get the bugs worked out with the other two formats!
I would so love tutorials about how to use the Cricut. I’m not very techy but I see uses of it on many blogs. I think I would like to purchase it but would like to know first hand how to use it, what it can and cannot do, etc. Nobody in the craft stores can demonstrate it. I would love to know how to “resize” images using the printer and the Cricut.
OK — after reading this post I’m not quite so “scared” about the new templates. Love that you’re planning to do tutorials and screen shots. Maybe I’ll eventually understand all of this! Thanks for you efforts to make creating beautiful projects easy for everyone!
So glad to read that the templates will be able to be cut out by the silhouette. Wasn’t looking forward to cutting by hand.
Oh lovely, I have a (still not unpacked, I have to wait till my birthday) silhouette SD. I look forward to your gsd files.
Eveline.
THANK YOU so much for making these GSD files. As I read the posting from the beginning, the first thing that I thought was how nice it would be to have the shapes in a format that the machine could cut instead of me. I’m not lazy, just not a straight cutter! LOL I cannot wait! Yippee!!!! You’re putting all of my favorite hobbies together in one place. I design my own files in Inkscape and spend hours on one file so it’s going to be so nice to have this available. Merry Christmas everyone!
Wow! So much that is new!!! Can’t wait until the release!
How cool! I’ve never made a shaped card before and don’t have a cutter machine so I’ll still be doing it the cheap, old-fashioned way for now 😉
I’m really excited that you will be offering the files in svg and gsd files. I love PTI 🙂
I am so excited that you are offering your templates in SVG format! I have always loved your templates and this will make them even easier to use. THANK YOU!
While I am really excited to have the svg option, I am not very excited about have to pay again for files I have already purchased. Hopefully there is a way to get them at a discount if you’ve previosuly bought them. Or even a bulk deal on the old files.
I am absolutely thrilled that you will also be updating Lauren’s Timeless Templates to SVG format b/c I treated myself to a Cricut Expression after saving for a year. I had a feeling that PTI was heading in this direction and I am so glad that I was right! I have many of Lauren’s templates and while I don’t mind printing them and cutting them out if I am mass producing them I would love to have them available in SVG. I’d better start saving my pennies for the SCAL program. You might be answering this question in a future post but will customers who have already purchased Lauren’s templates in print version be able to update them to SVG format for a lesser price? A million thanks for making it easier to use the templates.
I have the original Wishblade and I’m hoping these will work with it! So cool!
Very cool! Can’t wait to use them….and maybe even get a Cricut before too long (Christmas is almost here).
I am eager to see the new templates. I have a question regarding the download format for them….Currently, I download as a pdf and then cut and fold. I am wishing for a Cricuit for Christmas….so, if that happens, would I have to purchase another set of templates in another format?
OMG I can’t wait for the GSD and SVG files to become available – this will be fantastic – way to go!
I wish you guys would do something with gypsy files, not all cricut users use sure cuts a lot, this program is not a cricut /provocraft authorized program.
