Anyone who knows my design work well, knows that I love anything that involves type. I am obsessive about collecting fonts. I've always adored alphabet stamp sets. Collected patterned papers that were created with letters in unique formations. I'm just a typeface junkie, if you will. I am very excited to *officially* introduce Fresh Alphabet. It is a perfect medium size alphabet set that is suitable for creating custom sentiments, but large enough to be used for monograms too (as showcased HERE). Fresh Alphabet includes one of each letter, numbers & punctuation, all for $15. Such a bargain!
………………………………………………………………………………………………….
Just so you have a better idea about how the new Fresh Alphabet compares to our existing alphabets in size, I created a visual for you. As you can see it is quite a bit larger than Simple, but smaller than Trajan & Ambassador.
………………………………………………………………………………………………….
………………………………………………………………………………………………….
I put together a few fun samples that show you how you can use the new Fresh Alphabet in interesting ways. This first card is my personal favorite of the batch. It is VERY simple and clean, while also incorporating my favorite color scheme of the moment, *rainbow*.
…………………………………………………………………………………………………
The focal point I created demonstrates how you can have fun building words with the letters, inking each of them individually with a different color. It's a great way to incorporate or establish your color scheme. You could throw a piece of your favorite patterned paper in as the background and then pull four or five colors from it to integrate into your word. Super quick & easy! I added a bit of my own handwriting as a contrast to the clean font of Fresh Alphabet, with the word "today". You could also add different words or phrases from other stamp sets to compliment your word of choice.
………………………………………………………………………………………………….
………………………………………………………………………………………………….
The birthday card above utilizes the numbers that are included with Fresh Alphabet to create a fun birthday background paper.I lined all of the numbers up on a single block and then created staggered columns while stamping, sometimes flipping the whole block around to get a few columns upside down. It was a pretty easy and enjoyable process.
………………………………………………………………………………………………….
The round sentiment & star images are from the Around & About Sentiments set that will also be debuting on January 15th. I love the little ribbon detail like this. It is something I have found myself doing often lately. Much easier than doing bows or knots all the time, and it uses less ribbon too!
………………………………………………………………………………………………….
This final quick card could be used for the upcoming Valentine's Day or even an anniversary. I stamped all the letters on stamper's select white cardstock with true black ink. I then punched them out with a 3/4-inch circle punch. All the letters were adhered directly onto the kraft card front, except for the "i". I outlined the group of letters using a black journaling pen and a ruler.
………………………………………………………………………………………………….
I stamped on top of the "i" with with the solid dot image from Simply Stationery (also being released January 15th) using pure poppy ink. It added emphasis to the idea that this single letter was part of the sentiment rather than a background like the rest of the letters. The little red cardstock flag was stamped with the small heart image from Love Songs and "You" was spelled out with Simple Alphabet.
………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Shannon Roberts says
Well……ummmm; I do not own a single alphabet! UGH! So, see how winning these will help me out! The best of them all! The preview cards above are amazing.
Michele aka DerbyLea says
I love this alphabet! So simple and it goes so well with simple alphabet. I also love fonts, so fun to play with letters! So generous of you to have such a large giveaway!
Roxanne says
I have many alphabet sets – I kind of collect them. But I use the one PT alphabet set I have the most (simple alphabet). I love that it’s small, or maybe I love that it’s an acrylic set and I can “assemble” and “see” what I’m putting ont the paper better. I like how I can use a person’s name to make the ultimate personalized gift. Thanks Nichole for all the cool chances to win!
Charlene Austin says
Love it. The ABC I love you card is brilliant!! Great job Nichole.
Tabitha A. says
I to like to use alphabet stamps to personalize items. I also like alphabet stamps for making scrapbooking titles, and journaling.
My philosophy is you can never have too many alphabet stamps! All the different fonts make them so unique and who doesn’t LOVE to mix and match. Thanks for posting the comparison chart, it is so fun to see the different Papertrey fonts next to one another!
Roxanne says
All the alphabet sets are very cool. Definitely personalization. I kind of collect alphabet sets but I find I use the one PT alphabet set I have (simple alphabet) over and over again. Must be something about assembling them and seeing what I’m stamping that makes them so cool! Thanks for all the great opportunities to win. I love PT!
Anne Lawrie says
I’m more of a collector than I like to admit, but I love the possibilities that alphabets provide. I can spell anything imaginable, and can personalize anything.
ann. says
i love anything with alphabets! i love using them in creating notepads and such for teachers, friends… personalizing party favors! hope i win thanks again nichole for always inspiring.
Karen Sullivan says
I love to personalize birthday cards and also treats at birthday parties – I’ve used jumbo alphabets to put the child’s name on their birthday sack/bag of treats. of course it’s great to have alphabets to make scrapbook titles. It’s also nice if you have a child with an unusual name because normally they cannot find things personalized otherwise – but with alphabets, you can spell anything!
Thanks for a chance to win!!
Chris L. says
I like to use alphabet stamps for titles, on scrapbook pages, or for card sentiments that are not a “standard.” Thanks for such an awesome opportunity to win!
Ann Lind says
I love alphabets, you can word your own greetings and your background with numbers is a great idea . TFS Ann Lind
Mary C Stamps says
As a librarian I am drawn to the printed word. I love type of all types! I’m a quilter too. If a fabric has letters or words on it, I have to have it. Some of my favorite stamps are sentiment stamps – which is why I’m loving the Papertrey designs. I love the crisp clarity of the new Fresh Alphabet set. Thanks for designing this great new set.
Courtney Ferguson says
Awesome! I’m a alphabet junkie too and you can never have enough alpha stamps I say! Love your cards Nichole – also love the different sizes and types of all the papertrey ink alpha sets. My hubby is going to the usa in may so I am getting him to bring me back some sets – as postage is too dear for me:( But can’t wait til he gets back:)
Jennifer Caputo says

Christi E. says
When I was teaching I loved stamping pictures of objects for my first graders then stamping the word next to it to make my own flashcards. Now that I am a principal I love using alphabets to make personalized gifts for my staff. They are always so impressed with gifts that are quick to make! Thanks for sharing all of the new stamps with us! Papertrey is the best!
2stampis2b says
I love the Fresh alphabet…monograms are so cool and this set would make some nice cards for that!
Lynne says
I also adore type. I really love the way the Fresh alphabet relates to the Simple alphabet – perfect for monograms or a Small Cap look for words. I love my JustRite stampers, but since these are clear they should be just as easy to use. I think I read somewhere that the stamp bases are all the same sized rectangle, which should make it very easy to space the letters evenly! Thanks for the opportunity to win!
Michelle in Boise says
I love fonts…but I gotta be honest, I don’t do much with them on cards because I’m chicken! When I make computer images, I play with fonts for sure. Incorporating a passion for fonts is something I need to do with my cardmaking.
Elizabeth Beasterfield says
I love alphabet stamps because sometimes there’s that phrase or word that you need for a card or scrapbook page and just don’t have it, but with the alphabets you can make your own scrapbook title or focal word on a card! I like the use of different colors for each letter on that sample card!
PamPal says

Very cute.
Pam says
Love the new alphabet! Great card ideas!!
Thanks,
Pam
Kori says
Alphabets are great for putting your own personal twist on other stamp sets. For example, from Mixed Messages take the saying “bundle of joy” and use the alpha set to create “expecting a bundle of joy”. I love browsing through font styles. Every font set can evoke such different impressions/feelings. Thanks for the wonderful inspiration.
Sheri says

I adore alphabet sets, even though I’m the pickiest person on the planet when it comes to typefaces. I love this new one! I like how it’s a little stretched, it feels more relaxed/almost beachy to me…does that even make sense to anybody else?!
Mary says
Yup, I love alphabets too! 🙂 I have quite a collection of larger sizes (for all of the scrapbooking titles I *hope* to create some day), but lately I have been using my alphabets for monogrammed gifts… This new set looks to be a great size!
Great projects, as always!
Cindy says

Steph says
I love this alphabet because it is so clean and simple and perfect for monograms!
As for type in general, well let’s just say I have over 300 fonts on my computer. =) Playing around with the type of font can make the difference on a page or card. I have been trying to use more fonts on my cards and this set would help with that. It seems to be a great size for working on a card.
I am amazed at all the work this month, was reviewing some older blog posts from 2007 because I only found PTI about 6 months ago and it is amazing to have seen your site and design team grow so much. Everything is wonderful and keeps getting better all the time!

Thanks much

Your alphas are the greatest and I LOVE clear stamps – no guessing where you’re stamping, or taking the extra steps required by rubber stamps and a stamp placement tool.
Thanks for the chance to win your awesome alpha stamp sets.

Hanne says
Those alphabets are to die for! So clean and crisp….
Melissa McF says
I have a number of alphabet sets I’ll probably never use – because they’re wood block stamps and I was never any good at getting them evenly spaced and lined up straight enough to satisfy me. Even though tilted and wacky is supposed to be acceptable, I couldn’t even get that style done very well. So when acrylic stamps came out, the wood block alphabet sets went into a drawer and there they stay… Naturally, I’ll be purchasing Fresh!
Michele F says
I love the alphabet sets you have! I love how the different type fonts can change the entire feel of a card. I use the alphabets mostly to personalize my projects. It adds that extra special touch. Your projects now show me the other possibilities. Thanks for the chance to win!!

Love it! The Trajan alphabet was already on my wish list. Now I can add another! Thanks for coming up with such versatile sets. I can’t wait until the 15th when I can place a nice big order.
Stevie L. says
I never thought I’d need an alphabet set until now! Great samples!!! I really love the one you use them as background.
elaine says
I love a variety of alphabets also. There are so many little additions you can do with just a few letters of the correct font. Verses can make a card say just the right thing – but so can a letter or two (or more)! Just like the “I” on the “I love you” card! How cute is that????
xiumaiyuki says
I’m loving all the sets and this is no difference! This release is fabulous!
Stephanie Bleeker says
I am definitely a fan of the font. I always use an alphabet stamp for birthday cards – I have a son – so all of his friend’s birthdays – and for my 6 nephews and 3 brothers – the first letter from their names, combined with stars – perfect for a boy/masculine card.
I always get so many ideas from your blog, it is completely invaluable to me.
Stephanie

I love these alphabets. I would love to add this one to my collection! I love what you have shown what you can do with them. Thank=you Nichole for making this hobby so much fun!!!
Pam Reznick says
I love the “fresh” and simple look. However, how did you make each letter a different color. If you stamped each letter separately, then they would be hard to line up. If you lined them up on the block and then tried to ink each separately, it seems like it would be easy to smear the colors.
So what’s your secret? TIA
Amy M says
What fun! It is always so refreshing to learn that someone else loves something as much as you do. I can still remember begging my journalism teacher to buy Americana for us. I used it in everything I designed. I just loved it. Now I collect Ms for our home. I had a notebook with all my favorite uses of different fonts. Now I love, love alphabets and make lots of tags with them and alter different things. So from one font junkie to another–thank you!

I have only recently become obsessed with alphabet stamps. Mainly because I can take them along with me – something I can’t do with my computer and printer – when I go stamping with friends. I love to personalize the ribbon I use for gifts for my daughters’ friends.
I use “Happy Birthday”, “Congratulations”, “For You” or other sentiment stamps, (or spell the words out), then use alphabet stamps to stamp their name in between the sentiments. Oh, I get into soooo much trouble with fonts. I download too many and chew up all the memory in my computer because I just can’t decide. I really enjoy adding emphasis to a saying or phrase by either coloring just a word or using a different font for one word. I also like the flexability of making my own sayings with alphabet sets.
Helen says
OHHHH how great is this set? I LOVE alpha stamps! They are so versatile, can be used for cards, scrapbooking, home decor, kids school projects, etc. There are so many different sizes and kinds and brands, you just can’t go wrong. Stamps last WAYYYY longer than stickers, too! (IE: My first name alone has 3 A’s in it and with my mid and last, that would be 5…not many sticker sets contain 5 a’s. Besides, stamps last For-ev-ah! =)
Krissa Brown says
I love to use alphabet stamp sets for personalized stationery, titles on scrapbook pages and to create any sentiment on a card (when I don’t have another stamp to use):)
One thing I have discovered that helps when using the clear Alphabet stamps is to lay all my letters face down (like I will stamp them) on the paper and get the spacing for the words just the way I want it to fit in the space, then “kiss” the acrylic block to the letters. This attaches the letters to the block in just the right spacing I need for the area to be stamped…then to the stamp pad for color, then back to the project to be stamped.
One can never have too many Alphabet stamp sets!
Monica L says
I love to use them for monogramming!

Hi Nichole –
I love your new Alphabet set. I use fonts in cards, of course, but I also incorporate them into my collage work. I use them in altered objects, when using polymer clay and even use them when making PMC items. As an avid reader, I love words and thus the letters that build those words. I truly believe that reading opens worlds to us.
Thanks for another great set.

I had a bunch of wood mounted alphabets and used them to create my layout titles. But the perfectionist in me was bothered by my inability to line them up in a straight line so I gave away most of them to friends and family who are also into stamping/scrapping. However last year, I bought some PTI acrylic alphabet stamps and I love the flexibility of being able to see where I am stamping them.
Cheri Mosgrove says
Wow! Great cards! I didn’t think I was a typeface junkie. . . but I think I am now!!! Great job!

As I’m fairly new to stamping I don’t have an alphabet set yet but I bet the possibilities are endless. I like the idea of using them for monograms and personalized sentiments, and I’d love to see the effect on vellum or leather. I have been using PTI’s Simple Alphabet to create words and sentiments. Normally I incorportate only simple words, but back in October I created a whole facefront of a card using the Simple Alphabet. I wrote “RIP, Death By Chocolate” on tombstone cards. It was alot of fun to play around with the individual letters and to create something original.

I started stamping/scrapbooking with only aplhabet stamps! I know it may sound weird, but I would just make my own quotes and sayings on everything! I didn’t even want to use a computer or other images, I felt like I was stealing someone else’s work and that there would be nothing orignal to my work! Boy have I changed my opinion on that! I love it all now!

I love the concept of Alphabet Stamps – I only own one set (a cheapy set that is micro-mini!) so I like many others would absolutely treasure and adore this prize should I win!!! I love the idea of being able to customize things because my name is spelled so uniquely, it’s absolutely impossible to get anything with my name on it. One of those things that if I had a ‘normal’ name I wouldn’t be so intriqued by it, but alas, I always stop and ponder ‘customized’ products in stores just to see if my name is there!!!!! *laughing*
cecilia says

I love kinds of letters and can’t seem to own enough! They all seem to meet different needs. I especially like using them on cards to make bold statements, which may mean small or large print, as the size of a word helps deliver the impact of its meaning. I can’t wait to get my hands on this set!

Thanx for the inspiration and chance to win t’riffic blog candy!
