Wow brings back memories. I originally saw my dh at a high school dance. I asked him to dance on a “ladies choice” dance and he turned me down. A few years later we met at a work party and found out we both worked in the same building. He didn’t remember the high school dance but I sure did. We started dating and got married 3 years later.
I met my husband in Japan when we were both serving missions for our church. We didn’t fall in love there, but after we got back and I attended BYU we did everything together and fell in love! Our 22nd anniversary is this Tuesday! Thanks for the chance to win!

I was actually set up on a blind date with my husband’s brother. We were friends, but nothing more. When my husband came back from overseas, his brother thought we’d make a good match and introduced us. That was nearly 10 years ago, and here we are 4 kids later! 🙂
My father was in Amsterdam, lost, and asked my mom for directions. He was in the Air Force and she is Dutch. Later he asked her out for a meal…. Wow, it sounds so much better when they tell it, heeheehee.

In college, I moved in to an apartment down the street from my husband, and one night we had a party. Glen fell asleep on the couch, and I wondered who that knucklehead was. Ahh, so romantic.
Met him where he went to college. I taught in h.s. on the same campus — stopped for a beer and socialization at the college rathskellar almost every afternoon. My bff was also a teacher, her DH a student. They got us together … took him a year to get up the nerve to ask me out, and finally he did after BFF called him “chicken.”
I met my husband while I was out one night for drinks and dancing. At that tim I thought I was just ready to stay single for a while and just have time for me. Well, I met him on the dance floor, wwhere we did the Cha Cha Slide. He was so polite and interesting. I gave him my number. He accidently entered wrong on his cell phone. Luckily, after I left, my brother corrected it for him. He called the next day and I invited him over for dinner. He came over for spaghetti and he was hooked after that.
Believe it or not, we met on the internet. We lived about 1,200 miles away from each other. We became friends, met in person a year later and then after a year of flying back and forth, he proposed. We met 10 years ago and have been married for 5. It’s crazy to think how easily I may have never met him. I’m lucky!

I met my husband when my mom remarried and we moved from the city to the country. I had to now ride a school bus which I thought was pretty cool, and this good looking guy asked the new girl to sit with him. That was in 1973, and here we are 35 years later and still madly in love……. I LOVE our story!
My fiance and I actually went to high school together but he was dating my best friend at the time and he and I really didn’t like each other at all. After our first year of university we started dating and now, seven years later, we’re getting married in May!
My dh and I met at a church retreat during 10th grade. He said it was love at first sight for him but I didn’t notice him in that way until 6 years later. Then it was me who pursued him, not that he made it hard for me! He told his family in high school that he was going to marry me. If only I had been the wiser then….we’d have been together a lot longer.
I met my true love at a friend’s house. We were assigned overseas at a remote location and the local “club” was closed for renovations, so people took turns having get-togethers. Well, I don’t have one, yet! And my parents “met” because my Mom lived across the street from an elementary school and looked out and saw my Dad driving a school bus – then she started asking around about him! Next thing you know, they’re dating!!
I met my DH because the people we worked for at the time shared office space. He was married then so we just started as friends, but then he got separated and divorced and I think it was because we were meant to be together!!
I was a secretary for a furniture company and I picked up the mail every day. A certain clerk was watching me all the while and I never noticed! I put a personal ad on the internet. That was in 2000, so that was when most internet dating stuff was free. We emailed a bit, talked on the phone for 7 hours the first time we spoke, and we knew this might be “IT” after that phone call. We dated for the next three years, there was a rough patch late in that time, and then he got it together, asked me to marry him, and we got married 3 months later! January is our 6 year anniversary.

I met my DH on Match.com. The best darn $25 I’ve EVER spent (it was a 3-month trial special). DH said he typically never clicks on pop-up windows but one did for Match.com and he thought “What the heck!” and joined. I sent him a wink and he replied back to me. If there is such thing as love at first sight, is there such as thing if the first sight is from a picture??? I met and fell in love with my now husband in college, The University of Chicago. I saw his picture up on the wall of a fellow student in our dormitory. I naturally thought that it was her boyfriend but she said no….just her best friend. She was surprised that I had not met him yet as he had stopped by the dorm every night that week. Later that evening, she introduced us and we just shook hands. Later he returned and lightly rapped at my dorm door and said….”Haven’t we met before?” I thought to myself….what a lame pick up line….I replied “Uh….yes, just a few hours ago.” “No,” he replied, “before that”. I just rolled my eyes. He then invited me for a moonlight walk and a ride on his motorcycle….The rest is history.
I honestly don’t know when I met my husband for the first time. He was just always around. His roommate and my roommate dated in college. We were even neighbors at one point. We saw each other about a week before our roommate’s wedding. We were both in it and started dating the night of the wedding. 3 months later we were engaged, 9 months later, we were married!

I hope the man I am married to is my true love or I am missing out! LOL! Just kidding! My hubby and I lived 15 minutes apart frequented the same places but met…….online! I joined a personals group as a dare and wound up meeting my hubby! It was great because we e-mailed and talked on the phone for awhile before meeting in person, not to mention asking everyone I knew about him and him running a background check on me (he’s a police officer) so it really relieved a lot of that first date tension. He says he knew I was the one the first time he saw me! How sweet is that! It took me a little longer! Not much though. We were married less than a year after we met!

We met by accident one night. My (now)husband had just returned from his tour in the Army in Germany, and was with a guy friend of mine that we bumped into one Sunday afternoon. I was with a girlfriend of mine. Thank goodness the right one asked me out!
A month later we were engaged. Four months later, we were married. And nine months after that, our first son was born.

I met my husband when we were sophomores in high school – and my best friend wanted to go out with him! So in the process of setting her up with him, we “found” each other and have now been together 33 years.
I met my Hubby at work 10 years ago, I though he was a weirdo at first…LOL funny how life works huh??
My husband and I met on a blind date set up by a co-worker. She had worked with him in the Airforce before she became a nurse. I had been on my share of blind dates so I wasn’t too excitd about another one. But this guy was different. We just celebrated 9 years of marriage on December 3rd.
I was introduced to my DH as a blind date. I kid that I should have opened my eyes, but something must be working because we have been together for 32 years. PS my parents met at the rollerskating rink and have been together for 58 years.
My husband and I met the summer of 1999 while working at a resort during our summer break. We had to go back to separate schools/states at the end of the summer, but after one semester, he transfered to attend my college. The rest, as they say, is history!
Long story short (promise! lol): In ’93, I met a girl and she and I became best friends. In ’94, she graduated college and her parents sent her to visit me as her gift (she lived in ID, and I lived in TX). I graduated in ’95, so my parents sent me to where she was living (in WA).
My (now) dh and her were working on a team together in Seattle. He was from OK and she didn’t quite understand his sense of humor. I knew stories and decided (before I met him)that I didn’t like him. By the time I got there they were friends (she neglected to tell me).
After treating him poorly, he decided he didn’t like me either. But one night on my trip there, he heard me talking about something and decided I was pretty and smart. My friend sent us to a store a couple of days later (even though it was awkward), and before we got back I was smitten.
My last night in Seattle, we spent about 6-8 hours together just talking. He went home and wrote a letter saying he knew he had met the woman he would marry.
He gave me that letter on our wedding night (2 years later).
We’ve been married for 11 1/2 years and I am in love more now than ever!
I am still waiting for my true love to appear though I will say I have been lucky in love a few times and feel that those experiences though they didn’t last forever were important to me. Such a great question as our first date was 13 years ago tomorrow-the day of the release! We went to high school together but didn’t know each other, we actually raced to school and he won but was standing in my parking spot when I pulled in! From there things just clicked!

I met my true love at work! They always say you shouldn’t date co-workers, but we technically didn’t work “together” so it was ok 😉 We were consulting at the same customer, but on different projects. He would always try to ask me to lunch or stop by my cubicle, but I had a older European boss who would require the team members to eat lunch with him!! It was pretty funny…. I knew he was someone with an amazing heart and soul from the beginning. We have been together over 10 years. I am so happy and lucky to have found him. I am thankful every day that he is in my life!!

I was 18 when I met my husband. I worked at the local video store and he came in one Friday night looking for a movie that his “usual” store didn’t have in stock. Strange, but I wasn’t suppose to be working that night and he had never set foot in that store before. That was 17 years ago this month!
Mine is not soooo exciting – we worked together and he was actually married when we first met. (Nope, I was NOT a homewrecker!) I had some friends that I went out with and he started showing up too (after his divorce!)
My dad & mom met at the local skating rink when my dad literally knocked my mom off her feet. They were both still in high school and with their own separate friends. Both were on the skating floor when my dad accidently ran into my mom and knocked her down. Not hard to believe since my dad is 6’3″ and my mom is 5′. They became a couple and eloped after dad completed boot camp. My aunt & uncle took my mom to LA to meet up with my dad for their special day before dad went overseas.
We met while I was working at a retreat center. He came in to see the place as a client, called later that day to ask me to dinner…and the rest is history!

Here is the “story” that we had printed in our wedding programs 8 years ago. It is kind of long, but a fun story…
Once upon a time in a land called Northridge CA, there lived a young princess. In 1988 she bid goodbye to the king and queen and moved to the land of San Diego, CA to go to college and make her fortune (still waiting for that to happen, LOL!). She made many friends, graduated, and found pleasure in her career as a graphic designer, but wondered if she would ever find her perfect prince.
On July 4th, 1996, she met a handsome young man who had just left the land of Milwaukee, Wisconsin for a job in San Diego, CA. A few days later, she and one of her royal friends saw the young man at the County Fair. The three happily spent the day together. The royal friend suggested to the princess that the man might be someone special, but the princess though that he would make a good friend instead. Indeed, as the years passed, the princess and the young man did become friends, each experiencing romances with others.
On day in January 1999, the young man sent an email asking the princess to a movie. Agreeing the princess had a wonderful time and suddenly saw the young man in a new light. As they continued dating, the princess wondered if perhaps her hopes for a prince had been in sight all along.
On May 5, 2000, the two went on what would become a very special date. With help from his castle-mates, the prince planned an unforgettable evening. He brought the princess a dozen white roses (her favorite), took her to her favorite sushi restaurant (a big deal since he disliked sushi), and brought her to the rose gardens in Balboa Park for a romantic stroll. As they stopped to admire the roses, he got down on one knee and from the rose bed he pulled out a single red rose. He handed it to the princess. She thanks him, but gently scolded him for picking a flower from the public garden.
He replied, “Open it.”
“Open what?” she queried.
“It’s not a real flower,” he said. “It’s a box.”
Overcome, she handed it back to him and as he opened the box, she saw the sparkle of a diamond ring that rested inside. The prince asked the princess to be his bride and her reply was an emotional, “Yes. Yes. Yes!” As he placed the ring on her finger, she heard a rustle in the bushes and saw a great flash of light. Out of the bushes popped one of the prince’s castle-mates, dressed all in black with camera in hand.Across the way stood the prince’s other castle-mate, acting as look out.
With walkie-talkies in hand, they had successfully completed their part in “Operation Rosebud,” the prince’s pseudo military mission to make his marriage proposal an experience the princess would never forget.
The prince and princess (and now two little subjects as well) are living happily ever after…
I met my husband through a friend. I was dating someone else and he was gone that night; Kristi invited me out and I met my hubby! We were really good friends for about 2 years before we started dating…we were both at different colleges and so it wasn’t until after we graduated that we started dating!
I met my husband through a friend. And 30 years and 4 kids later we are still together and with 6 grandkids and 2 more on the way.

I met my husband in a gas station. He was my attendant! I invited him to my church and we were married…only 5 years later!
I met my husband in college. I actually laid eyes on him a whole year BEFORE we started dating. I remember actually seeing him (I don’t think we were introduced) at an intramurals volleyball game. I went home that night (no kidding) and wrote in my diary that I saw this GORGEOUS guy who seemed really funny and nice……but never really gave it anymore thought because I KNEW he was way out of my league and I ASSUMED he was already TAKEN. Well……a year later, guess who kept showing up at my workplace (I was working part time as a cashier) and coming through my checkout line? And now he is my husband, and I still think he is funny, and nice, and GORGEOUS!

While going to ISU, my dorm played a game of “Assasination”. My now husband had my name and spent a week following me around, trying to eliminate me from the game. Fortunately after the game, he still decided to follow me around.

My first memory of my husband was at our church college camping trip at the Salton Sea during spring break a long, long time ago. I collapsed from the heat after a day of water skiing and my future husband gave me salt water to drink. I’m not sure the salt water worked, but we’ve been married 40 years:)

We dated long distance for 3 1/2 years before I moved back because we were going to get married. We just celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary last month.

I was a college freshman, on a date with a guy I didn’t know very well. We were sitting on a bench on campus and he was trying to get me to make out with him. I wasn’t very interested. Fortunately, I was saved by another guy walking by. My date, who wasn’t the most suave character, made a total fool of himself by yelling to the other guy, with whom he had gone to high school. The other guy was, of course, my future husband. We became friends, and were part of a big circle of friends all four years I was in college. We finally began dating in the spring of my senior year, and married about a year after I graduated. We’ve known each other for 27 years, and have been married almost 23. If not for my bad date, I might not have met “the one”.

I wish I was writing about how my husband and I met. (I’m 35 and still waiting for prince charming….) My parents met on a blind date. My mom was told he was 28, rich and good looking. Well mom found out he wasn’t 28 but rather 31 (she’s was 21 at the time) and he certainly wasn’t rich. But he was good looking and she thought 1 out of 3 wasn’t bad so she married him. They’ve been married now for 39 years this past November!
I moved to Charleston, SC, as an older single (mid-thirties) girl to give history tours in the historic downtown of Charleston. I have always scrapbooked and was looking for a Creative Memories consultant. I emailed a couple of people and one emailed me and I gave her my phone number. She called me on the phone and asked me all kinds of questions about how I moved/why and what are my interests. Then out of the blue, she asked my age. I wondered what that had to do with scrapbooking as anybody can do it. So she said on the phone, well I have this brother and you guys seem to have a lot in common. (Mind you I am still just talking on the phone – we had not met in person!) Oh boy, I moved BECAUSE I was single and was perfectly content if not a little lonely for my family back in Indiana. Well, I agreed to scrapbook with her for one day and she finally showed me a picture of her brother! He was so good-looking!! She had us both over to her house to meet and then he called me for a first date. That night when we got back from our date, he asked if I was going to let him meet my cats (I am an animal lover!!). When he came in and got down on the floor to pet the cats, I fell in love with him that instant. We dated 23 months before tying the knot and have been married for 4 years now! I couldn’t be happier. I tell everyone it was a God thing even if his sister did introduce us! So basically I’m married now because I like to scrapbook and stamp!! ;D
My future DH was walking across campus when I noticed him my first day of college (I thought he was good lookin’!). It took me a few months to find him again and he was dating someone else. The next year we ended up in the theatre together (he behind stage, me on it) and he was STILL dating someone. We became friends quickly and our relationship grew from there. 11 years and 2 kids later, we are still here and he is STILL hot. I love him.
I met my amazing Husband of fourteen years on New Years Eve. He came up to talk to me after I refused some drinks that he sent to the table, I was the driver for the night and was not drinking anyting but for Pop. We talked for a bit, met up for breakfast the next day. He drove truck over the road so when he was back in town he came by the store where I worked flowers and a huge bear in hand we were engaged by the following Christmas Eve.

What a fun question! I was a junior in high school when I went into the local pizza place and spied this cute boy working. Being too shy by myself to say anything, I took my girlfriend the next day with me to check him out. And she knew him! I had always wanted a vintage VW bug, and my husband-to-be had one for sale that he had restored. I never ended up buying the car… but I did get my love bug! 🙂 We’ve been married for almost 10 years.
We met at a cocktail party. The party was held at a friend’s house and he wanted me to go out on the deck with him, but I wouldn’t because I’m too afraid of heights and the deck overlooked the city that we now reside in. Looking back, it would have been the end to the perfect evening, but I couldn’t get over my fear of heights to go look out over the city! I only went to the cocktail party on a bet from one of my college friends – she had checked her horoscope for the day and called and convinced me that I had to go to this party because my husband would be there. Seeing how I have no faith in the stuff, I took her dare and went just to prove her wrong. I came home that night and called her in Dallas to tell her that she had won, that I had indeed met my future husband! She may have won the bet, but I got my Edward (for you Twilight fans out there)!! 🙂
Hmmm.. I met husband in San Francisco.. We knew each other a long time ago but had lost touch… and got in-touch again and decided to meet up. It was a wonderful visit where he showed me ‘his’ SF and wined and dined me.. It was a memorable visit.. that was just over 7 years ago.. we’ve been married for 5.
I met my husband when I worked at a local restaurant and he did deliveries there. I told my boss (half joking) that he could be my future husband. 4 years later, during my final year of college the timing was just perfect for both of us and we decided we got along well enough to move in together for a summer. We have been together ever since. Not a very romatic story but it has kept us together for 11 years.
It’s not that romantic, but we met via Match.com. I was not happy with the service. After a month of trying to cancel my membership, I received a final message. I wasn’t going to reply, but he said he joined just to write to me. I am glad I did, because he is now my husband.

I met my husband through my roommate who was dating his brother. We were friends for several years before dating, and now we’ve been married for 28 years.
I met my husband in college. We met online back in the fall of 1991 when the internet was just taking baby steps. We went to different colleges and met on a message board for college kids. We started dating in 1992 and have been together ever since. We have been married for 12 years now and have 3 children.
We met in a bar. I know, not very romantic. But after the sleazy start, everything else was like a fairy tale. He had two boys which he had custody of and I had a young boy and within three months we just knew we all belonged together…Here we are 16 years later…the boys are all grown and gone and we’re enjoying the honeymoon years!Yep, we all lived happily ever after!

I met my husband while in the Army. When I arrived at my duty station he was in charge of our wing of the barracks. He never gave up asking me out. I am going to tell the story of how my parents met since I just passed another anniversary of my mom’s death. They met during the occupation of Japan after WWII, in 1948. My father was the only bachelor officer on base with a car the night that she and two other women showed up. They were there to run the NCO club. Dad was an officer. Instead of going to see his favorite movie (the secret life of walter mitty) he took the ladies out. They fell in love and the rest was history. Dad died in 1985 and mom in 1987. They had a love story for the ages….

I first met my husband at a middle school dance. I was “dating”, as much as a middles schooler can, his cousin. A few years later we met at a high school football game. We broke up once over the high school years but got married and have been together ever since.

The release this month “Love Songs” is absolutely perfect for my husband. The reason? Well, we met while he was singing. In 1989, a good friend of mine asked me if I wanted to go hear a friend of theirs sing. Little did any of us know, he was separated from his wife. We met, he wanted to dance with me, but since he was singing and playing the keyboard, he had to sing a song that didn’t need the keyboard. He sang “Lost in the 50’s” and we danced, he asked for my phone number, we dated for about three months and then some problems came up with his wife and kids and he needed to move back home to take care of his two kids. He asked me to give him six months to get things back on track. During that time, we talked, but didn’t see each other. Things didn’t work out the way he thought during those six months, so he told me that I needed to stop waiting for him because he wasn’t sure how long it would take. Four year’s later, I got a phone call on Mother’s Day. It was him! He finally had custody of his children and wanted to see me again. I wasn’t too sure, but he was willing to give me time. After about three weeks, I decided to give it a chance again. Fast forward two years and we got married and combined our families. Suddenly, I had a husband and five children (two of my own). He still sings me love songs and he still dances with me while he sings. He is still the love of my life!
Our story is kind of funny too. My husband and I were both “between jobs” and working at 7-11, lol. I asked him out and after 15 years and two wonderful sons later we’re still in love! It’s also funny that our wedding anniversay is the 7th day of November or 7/11!

I went with a friend to South Carolina to visit some of her old friends from her college. I met my now husband in his driveway! We pulled up and got out of the car and he came outside because he said he liked what he saw! We’ve been together ever since and 17 years later we have 2 beautiful little girls!

I originally met my husband when I was a freshman in college, although he swears he doesn’t remember this encounter! I was working on a group project producing an admissions video for our school. We were having such a difficult time getting the edit machines to play nice and when we finally did, my future-husband whisked in and announced that we were doing it all wrong, hit a few buttons, and viola! We couldn’t get the stupid machines to work again!! (we got a passing grade on the project tho, no thanks to my dh! 🙂 )Fast forward a year later: he was working at the TV station I was interning at and he asked me out over a game of ping-pong in the break room. After a few years of on-again-off-again, we tied the know eight years ago!
He was my Algebra tutor in college. We became great friends and soon started dating. Three years later we were engaged and now have been married almost 12 years! PS…. I only got a “C” in Algebra, but I got a true friend for life!
I answered a personal ad my husband wrote. What makes it even more interesting is his best friends girlfriend from high school ended up being best friends with my grade school best friend after she moved away. His father also worked for my grandfathers best friend so we both feel we were destined to meet.

We actually met six years later while out on a Friday night. Turns out I had a friend that knew one of his friends and they introduced us offhand as we were all standing around. That was thirteen years ago and I still remember that night. There was something so different about him…he actually looked into my eyes and listened to me as we talked. I wonder if it’s too fanciful to call it love at first sight, but I can’t come up with any other way to describe it! My DH and I met because of a large inflatable 20 foot glow-in-the-dark elephant. Yep, you read that right. His house in University had rented it to advertise their house party. They asked my floor to help guard the elephant overnight from rival houses. We stayed up all night guarding this elephant on a cold November night. At one point my DH ended up sitting beside me on the bench and I offered to share my blanket with him…that was 20 years ago.
My hubby was the last person I met in his family. He’s one of 6 kids, and I knew everyone (including his parents) before we met. We were both involved in Fife & Drum Corps (still are) but he was working in Virginia at the time, and we live in NY. When he came back from working in VA – we met at a parade. I meet my husband at a friends house. We went to the same high school but I never saw him at school, since he was a woodshop guy and I was into honor classes.
I was over a friends house and he came in from playing basketball and began playing the piano. I didn’t pay him any attention, but Later that night I got a call that night from our mutal friend asking if it was ok to give out my number. That was 22 years ago, and we have been happily married for 15 years.

A husband and wife team set us up. I knew the wife and my husband (now) was getting his Masters with the husband of the wife. We met at a bar for a happy hour (in July), under the guise of just going to get a drink. I had no idea the husband/wife team were playing match-maker. I met my David who I wasn’t impressed with. He wasn’t impressed with me either. It wasn’t until a few months later at a football party in October that we really took notice of each other. I asked my David to the company Christmas party and we’ve been together ever since. 12 years and counting.

Before all the “weird” stuff started happening on the internet… I met my husband there through a mutual friend. He wasn’t a stranger..I knew people that knew him. I had been a single mother for nineteen years, raising three children alone. I told everyone that I would NEVER marry again… But I quickly learned that God had other plans for me. I flew here to Vegas, not knowing a soul, got off the plane and we were an instant hit. I could not have found him on my own if I had looked for miles. He truly, truly is my soul mate. I met my husband back when home computers were just becoming affordable (anyone remember the dos commands??). He worked in a print shop that was getting into selling computers and I had a computer that needed upgrading. Since I worked 40 hrs a week, I could only get there on Saturdays. After several weeks of talking and seeing how my computer was coming along, I was finally able to bring it home. I realized that the reason for my visits were at an end, and that I would miss him. So I asked him out 🙂 We celebrated our 14th Anniversary this past October.

I LOVE this question! My husband and I met when we both worked in DC. He was away on travel when I started there and everyone in the office kept talking about him, saying “wait til you meet Doug…” The first time we met it was at the work picnic three weeks later, and he was wearing shorts playing volleyball; I about died at the site of his legs (he was a marine, so he was really fit). We started dating two months later, I couldn’t resist!
I had just started grad school at Ball State and he was a freshman (yes…5 1/2 years younger than me). We met through the university email system (this is right before www hit)…you could look up to see who was online, and he randomly emailed me…we wrote back and forth, then did some phone calls before meeting in person. Been married 14 years now.
I met my husband at the Zoo! I was a docent and he was a Curator there. When we met we were married to other people and it was many years later that life had changed and we eventually got married. He is truly my best friend and we have been together for 25 years!

my sister new my husband and a bunch of us were supposed to go downtown on the train ,meeting on the train since we each got on at different stops I knew who he was and thought he was alittle weird because it was 1978 and he was still dressed like a hippie….so when I got on at my stop I was the only one , everyone backed out of going but did not tell me and there he was on the train with a huge smile and a pair of bell bottoms pants so we spent the day together and I lo and behold we fell in love and married two years later!!!! 28 yrs now and 4 beautiful kids!!! I am blessed!
I met him at work, our first date was on Valentines day and we went to a movie and dinner. We saw Moulin Rouge. We both love the movie and it was so sweet. =O)
The first time or the second? The first time I met him at work through an aquaintance, but I was unavailable at the time. The second time a really good friend introduced us. He remembered meeting me before, but I didn’t. (I eventually did later after many conversations.) It was sheer coincidence that we met again. So freaky, but knew it was meant to be after the first date. We were married exactly two years after meeting the second time.
I met my wife at work. She came in dressed in grubbies and I was hooked. When she came in the second time, she’d dressed up (apparently for me!) and I was hooked even more. She’s a big fan of stamping, so I thought I’d come here and try to win her some goodies.

A husband and wife team set us up. I knew the wife and my husband (now) was getting his Masters with the husband of the wife. We met at a bar for a happy hour (in July), under the guise of just going to get a drink. I had no idea the husband/wife team were playing match-maker. I met my David who I wasn’t impressed with. He wasn’t impressed with me either. It wasn’t until a few months later at a football party in October that we really took notice of each other. I asked my David to the company Christmas party and we’ve been together ever since. 12 years and counting.

freshman year of college…we were in the same freshman orientation class and he reminded me of my brother who was out of the country and i was missing him terribly. i was somehow put in the “wrong” orientation group, i was the only non-engineering student in the group, but i think it was fate. i knew that first day that we would be together… 13 years later, 2 kids, and he is almost done with his PhD. how time flies when you are in love!

I met my husband when we were both out with friends for the 4th of July weekend. One friend of mine was friends with him & his friends, the two groups joined together and hung out the whole weekend. Now 2 girls from our group are married to 2 boys from their group! I married my husband 1 year later, my friend married his friend a year after that.
What a great question; I can’t wait to read through all the responses… I met my husband When I was 19 years old and we didn’t like each other! I was visiting his roommate in college (we were friends from a foreign exchange trip during high school)and I thought Chris was a party boy and couldn’t believe all the girls coming to the dorm to see him. I was painfully shy and he thought I was stuck-up! 5 years later my friend was getting married, so I came out for the wedding and Chris was the best man and was put in charge of keeping me company since I was all by myself. He almost didn’t bother, since he remembered how “icy” I was! Thank goodness he did, and I had gained some confidence in the meantime… by the end of the wedding weekend, I KNEW I was going to marry him. 18 months later, we got married and are still madly in love. I am the only person I know who had to go to New Zealand as a 15 year old, to ensure that I would eventually meet my true love (twice). Thanks, PTI… for this walk down memeory lane. I worked at a nursing home in 1985. I became friends with a girl named Crystal who worked the same shift I worked. We lived in California. She said that her brother Willie, was coming from Ohio. She said that he was going to fall madly in love with me. We got married in 1986 which makes it 22 years now. We have 2 kids, Matthew 22 and Jessica 15. We have a grandchild,Sophia who is 2 and one due any day.
I picked up my husband in our senior seminar in college. He was the geek reading the book, which no one else had even purchased yet (it was the first week of classes, after all!). Seven years later (including 2.5 years of marriage) and we are living happily ever after 🙂
Although I am 40 and have been married and divorced twice, I am embarassed to say that I do not feel I have met my one true love yet…I am hopeful though!
My grandparents met later in life..my grandmother had been divorced for a couple of years after her first marriage which was 33 years, and grandpa had been widowed for a couple of years. They were introduced by my great uncle, who grandpa worked for and was good friends with. Since grandma’s brothers approved of him they wanted to line them up. Grandma wasnt sure what to think of him at first, but a romance did blossom after a while…the hardest part was that he lived in California and we were from Utah, so that meant my grandma who I lived with on and off my entire life up to that point, was gone a lot.
They were married high up in the Uintah Mountains at a family reunion, in between a couple of trees with a pretty pink bow. The wedding cake was hauled up in the old motorhome, and my cousin and I were the bridesmaids, and were both 12 years old.
Today grandpa is 90 and grandma is 80. She had a knee replacement this past week and is not doing well, and grandpa is scheduled for surgery this Tuesday, after nearly losing him in September…they are so in love and have been such a blessing to me. That is the kind of love that I hope to still find one day, and after seeing them, I know it is still possible!

I used to dote over my husband in my older brother’s high school yearbook-never thinking in a million years I would be married to him-he is six years older than me so back then he didn’t even know I existed!!!!! We finally met right after I graduated from H.S. at our small town’s local softball fields. We struck up a friendship and have never been apart since then.
During my brother’s wedding, my aunt encouraged me to go to an online date site. I was hesitant but did it anyway. I met a lot of different men that were not at all what I was looking for and then there was my husband. I was not interested in him because he had a son and was a recent widower. He wasn’t looking for anybody to date. He said he was looking for a friend. I really didn’t make a big deal about it because he was not at all what I was looking for. One day when I was down to the end of my list, he emailed me and said he was coming down to Phoenix to pick up a friend from the airport. I said sure but again neither of us were interested in each other. I figured meet at Starbucks for a cup of coffee not a big deal. The minute I saw him walking towards me I knew he was the man I would marry. We met in December, got engaged in February, and married in March. Here we are almost 6 years later, 3 biological kids, and one adopted son. I wouldn’t trade my man of God for anything in the world. He is truly a man of God and I am so thankful to God that I met him. I have the best husband in the world. Thanks honey for marrying me!!

My true love crashed my high school graduation party in ’97. I looked horrible because I had been thrown in the pool and then up pulls a really cute guy. So he struts up and the first words out of his mouth were “Do y’all have any food left, maybe some cookies?”. Nice huh? He comes back with a plate full of cookies and introduces himself as Paco. I had learned while he was inside that his name was Ross. So I decided to make a fool of myself because I didn’t know him and would never see him again, LOL. I responded that my name was Tawana (my name is really Kim). We ended up running into each other all over the place for the next 5 months and finally started dating Nov. of ’97. We still sign our notes to one another from Tawana or Paco 🙂
My parents met at church. They had been friends all their lives, through Sunday school and confirmation, and then became close while volunteering at a local soup kitchen while both were graduate students. They are wonderful examples for me! I’m so excited about this new release 🙂

I was in university and had been coaching elementary debate as well as participating in university debate competitions. I was asked by a friend to go to a weekend debate camp to teach some workshops to high school students. I went with my friend, and while we were there I met my partner Deron. He was the admin assistant for the provincial debate association that was hosting the workshop. At the end of the first night there was a campfire for all of the staff, instructors, debaters and coaches. As the night wore on the coaches and students went to bed in their cabins. My friend, and Deron’s boss knew that something was kind of going on between me and Deron, so they said they were also going to go to bed. (We found out later they were actually hiding in the bushes to watch what was going on.) Deron and I stayed up late around the campfire. He rubbed my shoulders and we talked until the wee hours. then, we went into the chalet and kept talking until about 4:00am. I had to get up and teach the next morning, but it was worth it! Deron and I lived in different cities, so we “dated” long distance for over a year before we ended up moving to the same city in 2003. We have been together for 7 years.
We met on Sept 2, 1988 at a night club of all places. He was a bouncer and I was a wild party girl that was home from college for the weekend. By February we were married!! This coming Feb will mark our 20th Wedding Anniversary and I’m not even 40! (ok 39 but still that is soooooo NOT 40)
Well….(try to follow because it gets confusing)my roommate had a boyfriend, the boyfriends Dad was having a party…the roommate of the boyfriend was there and so was I. That was in 1981 and the rest is history! *smile*

My husband and I met in the Marine Corps…..he came to my door @ the barracks one night and asked me if I wanted to go out to eat. I told him that I needed to save money so I’d eat in the chow hall. He said, “That’s a fate worse than death…I want to TAKE you out to dinner, like a, uh….DATE!”
He didn’t have a driver’s license (didn’t get one ’til after we got married!) so I drove to our first date. 5 hours @ Souplantation in San Diego, CA….sitting on the patio, talking about our childhoods, families (he didn’t WARN me fully about his!), and anything else we could think of to prolong the night. It was WONDERFUL!
I met him at work 🙂 We were both in the Air Force. I fell in love with him the first time I saw him at my duty station. We were married 4 months later… and we’ve been married for 16 years now!

Then I was on a chat site and he emailed me… I recognized his computer name being the same as the guy from the personal ad. He only lived 40 minutes from me. Is that not kismet or what! We met in person 2 weeks and hundreds of hours on the computer later and married 2 years later.
I met my husband at his softball game on the Navy base – the first time we met his friends said invite us to your wedding! 13 years later and we are spent every night together since…accept when he is deployed like is now!! 😉

I met my true love at work! I was introduced to him a few weeks after I started working there and within 2 weeks he asked me out to lunch to “get to know each other since we will be working together”. Later that week he asked me to help him with a work related function at night…I wasn’t able to go. The next day he asked me to a hockey game (since he found out that I liked hockey) we hit it off right away. If you ask him, though, that first lunch was a “date”!! We’ve been together for 9 years…married 7 years with 2 beautiful children!

I haven’t found my true love yet, so on to my parents. They met in high school at the local skating rink where my dad literally knocked my mom off her feet. They became a couple after that, running off to get married after my dad finished boot camp & before he was sent overseas.
This will probably sound sooo shameless, but I pinched my husband’s butt when he was talking to another girl!! I had the biggest crush on him. He used to hang around with some of my friends, so I knew who he was and thouhgt he was soo cute. I was trying to work up the nerve to talk to him, but he was always surrounded by other girls.(i say girls because we were 19 an 20 back then.) so, one night I finally decided to say hi, but he was talking to some other girl. well, I thought this should get his attention! I just walked past him and pinched his bottom as I did!! He turned around and followed me and we started talking. He hurt his knee that night and had to be off work the next week from it. I was off of college for winter break, so we spent the whole week getting to know each other. I knew that he was the one! We’ve been married for 11 years now. So, I’m very glad that I was so shameless!!!

We met our junior year in college. He was my sorority sister’s friend and when she and I became good friends she introduced us. We didn’t start dating until our senior year. She ended up marrying his best friend from high school right after graduation and my husband and I were married a year later. We have been happily married for 21 years and going strong.

As my husband tells the story, he noticed me in a class we shared in college and told his friends he was going to marry me. We’re opposite in many ways, so it was almost two years before we began dating. We just celebrated our 20 year anniversary in November. My DH was a friend of a friend and I don’t specifically remember the first time I met him (how unromantic!). But I do remember the first time I started to notice he was something special at a new year’s eve party (1997-98) and by Easter that year we were dating! It was a long-distance relationship the first 3 years as he lived in a different city (about 2 hours drive from me), but we survived that and now we’ve been married just over 7 years.

Funny “long story”, but……………….don’t worry I’ll give the “abbreviated” edition!!! Long story short—I’m from Hawaii, Mark is from Minnesota—and we met in an interview in Oregon—and get this—he hired me!!!
Funny thing of course was in the company we work for—although we were both “attracted” to each other from the start–we never could have dated—as long as he was my boss!!! Well, we took care of that—we both changed to different departments—and “voila” here we are 26 years later—and “he is and always will be” the “Love of My Life”!!!

We met in college while both running for student government positions. To get a first date, I caught a greased pig… now 12 years and two children later…. it’s still a story we laugh together when telling. I’m even smiling as I type.

My sorority sister ended up marrying his best friend from high school right after graduation and he and I were married the year after. I met my husband when we were both in the Air Force at JAC Molesworth, UK. We saw each other across the room and it was love at first sight! I was dating someone else at the time, and when we broke up, he gave me one of his two Furbies to keep me company so I wouldn’t get lonely!

He was a lifeguard and she checked baskets at the local swimming pool. They were married on my father’s 21st birthday and celebrated 60 years of a loving and happy marriage before my Dad passed away.

My grandfather was an American soldier during WW2, serving in England where he met my grandmother, a young English lady. They married and moved back to the States after the war. My mother was born an American and decided to move to England for a couple years to teach physical education. (She had spent a lot of time in England during her girlhood visiting her mother’s family) She met my father, who was British, at a party and one thing led to the next! They married and soon moved back to the US and had three daughters. Sadly, neither marriage turned out happily. Therefore, I don’t know if I would ever want to marry a British man; it could either be third time’s the charm, or three strikes you’re out! LOL!

We met in 1984 at the summer pre-college picnic for people who lived far away from where we both ended up going to college. We always say that if we had not run into each other there, we may well never have met… as an engineer and Classics major, we would not have met in classes or whatnot. DH and I met as volunteers for Young Life, an organization that works with high school students. We were helpers on a weekend, winter retreat and when we returned, there was an ice storm that knocked out power for more than a week. Since my apartment had no heat I was invited to stay at his folks house. What we thought would be a day stay turned into 6!! It gave us a fun start to our story!

Shaun and I met 19 years ago at a dance club in downtown Salt Lake City. It must have been love at first sight, because we moved in together two weeks after we met. He is still my best friend and my biggest supporter. In March we will be married for 19 years.
It was a month before we were to start High School and we were visiting the school for a few hours. A cure guy walked in the doorway and to the teacher’s desk. By the time he got to the teacher’s desk, I knew I would marry him someday. I was 12 and he was 13. We got married about five years later.

I didn’t like him at first because I couldn’t understand his accent(he is from Louisiana and I’m a Japanese) but we had a chance to talk for a long time one day and he was very nice, sweet and patient. We had to overcome all the differences many international couples had to experience but he is still my true love 15 years later.

Jason and I met in our freshmen year of college. We lived in the same dorm and often saw each other out in the lobby playing cards and such. When a group of my friends wanted to play a game of Hearts and I did not know how to play, he offered to teach me. Well, anyone who plays Hearts knows that the Queen of Spades is the worst card to play when starting a round, but Jason advised me to start with the Queen! I’m married, but my parents have the TRUE LOVE STORY. They 1st went out on Valentine’s day to a dance. What a way to begin a LOVE STORY. After dating for 4 yrs. & my Father went to war, they finally got married. Thru the years, I NEVER heard my Father raise his voice to my Mother once!!, and visa versa. They had 3 children, a DS, DD, and DD. My parents had great times with each other. Any time they would come home from a party, they always brought the favors to us. My parents were a blast to be with, and was never embarressed to be around them. My Father traveled alot and it was my Mother who always made sure everything was taken care of.When he returned you could always see the LOVE in their eyes that they were back together safely. In later yrs.,at the age of 21, my sister was in an accident and was killed, which my Mother held our family together.Then one day, my Father had to take over everything my Mother did. Both of us children were married and had families of our own. I helped in anyway I could. 3 yrs. ago, my Mother found out that she had lung cancer and only had 2 1/2 mths. to live, but God gave us 3 yrs. Thru this time, my Father waited on my Mother hand and foot, even after his hip surgery and was walking with a walker, and everyday they told each other I love you. Thru their 51 yrs. of marriage, my Father stayed with my Mother till the end on Nov. 23rd. He was there with her and was telling her how much he loved her. I only wish that mine and anyone’s LOVE could be as stong as theirs. They trusted, and Loved each other and believed in our Dear Lord, and that to me is a LOVE STORY I will never forget. I met the love of my life at a skating rink over 45 years ago. I rode on the handle bars of his bike when he could not drive a car and now after two children and 3 grandchildren, he just retired and he is still the love of my life.

I met by DH while working at the public library. He came in after work to play chess with a friend who was actually the one trying to pursue me. That never came to be but my hubby and I became close friends (and he had a girlfriend at the time)that turned into something more. Needless to say he broke up with the girlfriend and he and I have been together for 16 years (14 married) through many ups and downs that most people would have given up on. I met my husband, Scott, when I moved back home after a horrible first job experience out of culinary school. His family went to the same church as my family. I actually knew his parents and sister from visiting the church on visits to my parents. My dad introduced us one Sunday evening at church, but my dad asked Scott how things were going at the college. Well, I thought Scott was still in college, thus younger than me and therefore I wasn’t interested. But I ended up finding out that he worked at the local college and then he asked me out on July 4th. We were married about 2 years later, and have been married 10 years now with two wonderful sons. I love him more today than ever.

My husband and I met in the cafeteria in high school – I was having an argument with a girlfriend about an episode of Seinfeld, and I asked him to settle it, even though we had never spoken before! He started sitting at my table, we became friends, and a year and a half later, we started dating. We’ve now been married for almost 7 years!

I was introduced to the love of my life by his college roommate, who I had met at a party. The roommate was kind of a wild boy, and I wasn’t. So when DH’s roommates went home from the party that night, he told DH that he’d met “the perfect girl for you.” DH’s roommate introduced us a few days later in the middle of “Red Square,” and the rest is history. We have been married more than 28 years, and I love him as much today as I did the day I met him.
My husband and I will be celebrating our ten year anniversary this Thursday the 18th. This is the perfect question to ask me around this time. I met my husband twelve years ago at a Rugby tournament. I had just started dating a team mate of his and was invited to go watch his Rugby game in Cleveland Ohio. When we pulled up I noticed a man sleeping in the car next to us. He was a teammate of my friends. We walked up to his car and woke him up. He stepped out of his car and my friend introduced us. He smiled at me and shook my hand. We both froze and starred at each other for around a minute holding each others hands. I was in a trance of some kind. I still can not explain it. We both laughed and shook it off. But I knew from that moment on that I had just met my husband. A couple of weeks later my friend that I was dating told me to give Scott a call because there was obviously some connection between the two of us. I called him up the next day and asked him out. Our first Date was on July 4, 1996. Our first kiss was a small kiss on the lips while watching fire works over the water. It was perfect. Three years later on July 4th 1999 after being married for six months , we found out we were expecting our first child. July 4th is a good date for us. We both believe in love at first site. We experienced it. He is and always will be my knight in shining armor.
We worked together at the 7 – Eleven office, different departments.
We met at a recital for his exgirlfriend. I was there to support her and he was there to get her back. Good thing I talked to him and she ignored him!

My parents met at a ball game. My Dad said he saw this beautiful girl whom he couldn’t take his eyes off. He knew he had to meet her, and asked a friend to introduce him. Dad had just got home from WWII, and Mom was only 16. However, love struck them both, and they were married the summer of 1950. Fifty-eight years later, they are more in love than ever!
My husband worked with my mom. I worked for a different company in the same building as them, so I would go meet my mom for lunch about once a week and would see him there. We went out with a big group of people a couple of times, and then I finally called him and asked him for the first date! I was tired of waiting for him to call. 🙂

I just love to tell the story of how my husband of 20 years and I met. He was sitting around with some of his friends (he was 15 at the time) and dialed numbers until some poor slob (me) answered. I talked to him for hours that night and we just clicked. We continued to be phone pals for months and then we finally met but we were still just friends for many months. Everybody said we were too young (just as I would be saying to my kids if this was one of them) and that it couldn’t last but 25 years after meeting and 20 years of marraige and 3 kids later…I guess it was the real thing! If this isn’t fate, I don’t know what is!
My first true love was spotted at the Jr. Ranks Mess after a baseball game. I thought it would be cute to toss peanuts into his beer………..LOL. NOT!! I did it anyway……….and got pretty good at it. After college I met my true love b/c he lived next door to me. I lived in an apartment with 2 friends and he lived next door with two friends. It was love at first sight – almost.
I had just moved 300 miles away from home for my first real professional job. I didn’t know a soul in town. I met my future husband the first day of my second week of work. He was a PR person and I was a newspaper reporter. In three months we were engaged. That was 25 years ago and we’re still silly in love.
We met at church! It was love at second sight since we had already talked once but didn’t quite click that first time. After that second sighting we spent every day together and got married six months later.
wow, sweet memories. My husband and I met while doing volounteer work in Romania (Europe) in July/August 2003, we were both college students and we got scholarships from Hope WW to participate in Hope Youth Corps, and our site was Romania. We met there for the first time, at that time he lived in Philadelphia, PA and I was living in Macedonia (Europe), so we served children from different orphanages for two weeks before returning to our countries.I think just serving kids with different physical and mental challenges and how we handle that can really reveal our true selves and makes us grateful for what we have. From the first time when he walked in the family center I knew there was something special, and it seemed too good to be true, especially because we lived in different continents.
Well after that we stayed in touch through email, phone, chat etc. And in June 2004 I came to the US, in November 2004 he proposed to me, about a month before my visa expired, and in February 2005 we got married.
I could say a serving for a good cause brought us together.
My hubs and I met at my bff’s house out in high school for a few months. We went our separate ways for a few years, but got back together. Been very happily married for almost 16 years now!!
We meet when my husband came to work at the dealership I was working in. I was in the process of getting a divorce and not really in a good place to think of someone new. After my divorce was final I moved back home, on the other side of the country. We wrote and talked on the phone and after a year he asked me to go on vacation with him. I finally agreed and after a week he asked me to marry him, mind you this vacation was our first dating in person. I said yes and we’ve been married 26 years and have 4 wonderful children.

On a college class weekend field trip to Cadillac Mountain. We hiked together, watched the sunrise and he taught me to play cribbage and the next week he asked me on a date. Wow, I can remember so many details of that time.
We met on the ice rink! I had organized a pick-up hockey game between my team and some people I worked with. I knew my husband-to-be well enough to say hi, but during the game we ran hard into each other and that ‘broke the ice’, so to speak!

My mother, Charron, was a friend of my husband’s mother, Mary. Mary’s water broke in my mother’s kitchen when she was pregnant with my husband, Mike. My mom drove Mary to the hospital where she gave birth to my husband, Mike. We are celebrating our 14th anniversary on 12/23~ our mom’s are to thank! 🙂

I met my husband through a friend when I visited her at college. The funny part of our meeting was that, I had always heard from her that he was a very talkative, funny, out going type of guy. But the night we met, he was so nervous around me he barely uttered a word. We ended up staying up all night watching Nick at Nite and talking about everything. I think the next day I knew I wanted to marry him!

I don’t have a true love 🙁 but my parents met in college. My father was the teaching assistant in the chemistry class my mother was taking. They literally discovered their own chemistry and 60 years later they are still happily married.
My husband is from Edmonton Alberta and I am from Toronto, Ontario, opposite coasts of Canada. We both ended up in North Carolina where we had a mutual friend who one day said, “Hey, I know someone else from Canada” she was our Matron of Honor at our wedding!

My true love was my very first boyfriend from college when I was a freshman. We were in the same language class together. We have been best friends over 30 years now. I met my husband when I worked at an all boys’ drug & alcohol rehab facility. He was in charge of the school and hired me as a summer substitute teacher. I was only there a week before he asked me out. At the time, I simply wanted to be known as a great teacher. To this day it is a joke as to whether he hired me permanently because I was a great teacher or because he wanted me to go out with him.
