I am going to try to post a project for each set before our release party begins tonight at our SCS Forum (More details about the party later today!). First, I am going to show another project with our punny valentine set, and explain the "1/2" set that you have all been wondering about!
One of the images in this set is a plump little sheep, with his body, head, & legs all separate stamps. The stamp for the body is a scalloped oval. The reason I did this was so that you could easily stamp the body if you like OR you could use your Nestabilities/ scalloped punches, to substitute the body. This characteristic really opens up many possibilities.
So, to begin, I die cut a scalloped oval from Groovy Guava cardstock. Reserve the negative, because that is the part that we will utilize for this project.
I then applied thorough adhesive on the back of the scalloped negative. I got a very small piece of polyester fiberfill stuffing (a form of stuffing that can be found in any craft store via their sewing section) and pulled it so the fibers were relatively flat. I then adhered it to the back of the scalloped negative. It doesn’t need to stick as well as you may think to be able to stay in place. The fibers are very much intertwined, so as long as you grab a few particles around the edge of the oval opening, you should be good!
I then flipped the negative over and pressed it onto white cardstock. I highly recommend only layering the fiberfill on top of white, because it actually has a bluish gray tint to it, and if you layered it over a different color, you would lose that brightness.
Next is the addition of the head and legs. I stamped them with Burnt Umber Palette ink and cut them out. I then just adhered them into the appropriate places in order to turn this ordinary oval into a sheep!
I added a few more little touches and completed the card! I highly recommend using brads in the four corners of the focal point to help hold it in place with all the fiberfill & everything.
The fiberfill adds such a nice detail. Nice and fluffy and tactile. Notice the tag? It reads "Welcome Little One". Well guess what? It is part of our new half set! We will be offering a small set of stamps (they come on a 3×4-inch sheet) that features sentiments that you can use in conjunction with the images in this punny valentine set, and make it a YEAR-ROUND set!
The mini set has 12 sentiments which can be used to create over 13 combinations for the PERFECT punchlines to go with this set, in a non-Valentine way! For example, the sentiment that is supposed to go with the sheep for Valentine’s Day is "Wool you be mine." (courtesy of "stampintoo" via SCS; yet another winner of our punny valentine sentiment contest!) Notice how well the image of the sheep transformed into an adorable focal point for a baby themed project, just because of the sentiment! One of the things I am so excited about is the versatility the mini set will add to the punny valentines. I know I always hesitate to buy seasonal sets, but with this add-on available for a mere $5, who can resist?!?!?! The mini add-on set does NOT include a storage case, nor does it count towards your final tally for the free anniversary set.
I should have another post later on today! Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Nichole, CONGRATULATIONS on yet another huge and successful launch this evening. I really enjoy all your stamp sets, but love how you keep improving and finding more ways to implement your images. I adore how you created this textured sheep with such simple steps and products. I think it would make a priceless birth announcement, with the date, name and weight, and then framed for the baby’s room. What a wonderful baby shower gift that would make *!*
Please don’t ever stop your creating of stamped images, nor the five day countdown that preceeds their release. I’m so pumped-up and eager to see what you’ve come up with each month, WAY before midnight, so the last hour for me is literally torture! ha ha
Congrats again Nichole & **Happy Holidays**

WoW Nicole!
You’ve captured the heart of this Spinner & Weaver now turned Paper Artist as well. I can’t wait to try this and thank you for keeping it on your project list. For most instances the fiberfill is probably the best but I just have to try it with some of my curly Yak and curly Poodle fibers. Hmmm…I’m thinking black and curly fleece too. After all there are always a few black sheep among us and don’t we love them just because they are? 🙂
On another note I wish you lived in Southern Oregon. I’d love to have your tiny paper and ribbon scraps. Especially the Stampin Up paper. I started making some of my own papers awhile ago and the scraps can be leached to die the new papers or to provide bits of color and texture with or without stray ep and glitter!
Thanks for sharing! – Jean
